Chapter 1: Afterlife

My name is Josh, Joshua Priest, I am gay and dead. Yes dead gay, I jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge while on my School’s educational trip.

I couldn’t stand the bullying but I am happy that my friends who are also of the LGBT are also dead with me so I’m not lonely but, I do hate that Don is here. Yes, Don’s here that crud.

“Hey Josh!” Lexi shouts out her hair flowing with the wind. She is Don’s brother and I feel very sorry for her but also angry that he killed her brutally like he did to us. I mean who does that to a girl? Who?!

“Hi Lexi” I greet hugging her. Not in a lover way but like in a friendly way, don’t want to get anyone jealous.

“How are you?” She asks letting go and smiling brightly. After she was murdered, she has been really happy, which to me is both understanding and weird.

“I’m good, a little hungry, but good.” I explain as we walk together to grab something to eat.

We met up with Antonio and Evin but behind us, Don comes up and hits us “accidentally” cutting and such.

“Hey watch it man!” Evin shouts out glaring at him but Don just smirks evilly and walks off grabbing his food.

People always think that there isn’t an afterlife after death but the Egyptians were right! Oh heck yeah! There is an afterlife after you die! Ha! Take that teachers and history Text books! Take that suckers! Oh yeah I will say it again! Take that!

I was about to grab my food until Evin bumped into me. His lavender eyes looking at my golden eyes and his clothes are touching mine making me feel like “come closer, I want to feel your skin”.

“Sorry, you can go.” He said gesturing out his hand forward. Grabbing my food, I walk to a nearby and empty table. While eating I watch Evin and his friend grab their foods and to my surprise they come to sit with me. No one, not even when I was alive, would come and sit with me or anything.

“Mind if we sit with you?” Antonio asks sitting himself down the same time Evin did as well. Smiling, Evin opens his soda can and takes a sip staring at me with those glorious lavender eyes.

“Well you have just seated yourself so… sure.” I reply eating an orange, eyes still on Evin who is now eating a burrito.

The whole atmosphere in the afterlife world is nothing what people said of thought of. This is only half-way to either the glorious place or… the underworld.

We have to go through trials, although I never heard of the trials or even seen them all I know is I have to pass them all. Feels like going back to school.

After I finish my proportion of the food, the rest I threw away. The best thing about being dead is the food or anything you want to get rid of. You just snap your fingers and they disappear in a flash.

See, even when your dead, everything is just like what you lived through when you were alive.

Nothing is new except for the fact you can’t age anymore, you stay the same forever, you now have ghost powers which I think is pretty neat, and you can finally go through walls!

I’ve always wanted to do that now I can. For some very odd reason that I don’t know, I’m now quite glad I killed myself.

As I wait for my new/old friends to get done with their food, I notice that Evin was done before me and was standing behind me crossing his arms to his chest, his massive chest.

“Took you long enough.” He said to me, Lexi, and Antonio. We quickly get out of the room before Don could spot us and torment us. But it wouldn’t matter as long as Antonio was with us.

Lexi took off and I notice she was flirting with a girl who, was classes as an asexual, like Antonio but she seems to be enjoying Lexi flirting with her even though she said she never wanted to be in a committed relationship.

As I watch Lexi and that other girl goes off to have what I think I heard, “a girls’ night” I went along with Evin and Antonio, my two main men in life. Well Antonio is my main friend and Evin… I hope he will be the main man of my whole dead life.

“Where do you want to go?” He asks. We don’t have classes as of this month and the next, consider summer if we were alive.

‘Anywhere with you.’ I thought but I told him I wanted to go to his house, to hang out and stuff.

“Welcome to my messy abode.” He announces as he opens the door for us.

His house is literally a pigsty; he hardly ever cleans it unless it’s a holiday or if he feels the need to. I hope today is his “need to clean”. You can barely get around but that’s okay, I normally just fly, I love flying, hate walking.

That’s why when I was alive, I would run instead of walking, would get in loads of trouble.

“This is a nice… messy abode.” I said looking around to see if there even is a floor. For people who are alive, they would see nothing but us, we can see. We ghost look at each other as if we’re still alive to others, dead, air, nothing.

“I planned on cleaning it but I kind of panicked a little when you said you wanted to come here.” He explains cleaning some of his stuff out of the way. Antonio and I decide to help out, more people, more time to hang out.

“I learn that in the third month we learn poltergeist.” Evin explains smiling a little.

‘Finally, I will be able to haunt my enemies.’ I thought and then blushed a little after looking at Evin’s ‘don’t you dare’ expression.

“You know I feel sorry for Lexi,” Evin starts and Antonio and I turn our heads to him in confusion. “I mean, she is Don’s sister but…”

I felt sorry too, having a person like…Don, be your sibling. I can’t even think or imagine it, too horrible. Especially if he or she is dead with you.

We heard the bell ring and I hoped, cross my fingers, that it isn’t Don and his new friends of tormenting pain. I look up to see Evin go over to his door and slightly open it.

“Hi.” I hear Lexi greet as Evin gets out of the way to let her in. I notice that she has that girl with her; she introduced herself as Amy Gretel. I stood up and shook hands with her.

To me, it felt weird shaking another girl’s hand that isn’t Lexi or my mother. Never dated a girl and never had a sister, heck I never even met my female cousins.

Lexi is the only girl I feel comfortable around; you know hugging, shaking hands, talking, etc. You get the picture.

“Welcome to my friend’s humble, but messy abode.” Antonio teases Evin who’s pouting.

“Hey I least I cleaned it up a bit.” He protested a bit still pouting a bit.

“We cleaned it up a bit.” I explain reminding him that both Antonio and I did help. I saw him smile and cross his arms again.

“So what’s on the agenda for today boys?” Amy asks her arm around Lexi’s waist, and Lexi’s arm around her waist.

I suggested a game and they all agree, just not the “Dorian Gray game” or Ouija Board. The last time we played those two, we got into more than trouble from the authorities but other things as well.

We settled on a game of truth or dare. Safe but cunning. You never know what your truth or dare will be.

“Ok, Antonio,” Lexi said starting the game. “Truth or dare?”

“Truth.” He simply replies waiting to see what Lexi would ask. Well in fact we were all waiting.

“Hm… is it true that you are a third degree black belt?” She finally asks.

Nodding, Antonio said it was true and that would probably be his final belt. He was aiming six but never got there.

“Ok… Josh,” Antonio said as we looked at each other. His eyes almost like Don’s. I now feel like a prey about to be eaten by the predator.

Gulping, I said dare. What?! Why did I just say that? I am such a huge moron!

“I dare you too… hm.” He thought coming up with a devious dare to humiliate me. Oh please someone help me.

“I dare you to go… make out with Evin.” He finally said smiling devilishly. Again, looks kind of like Don’s only Don’s is more like, “I’m gonna kill you.” Antonio’s look is like… well a little bit like Don’s that’s all I can say right now.

Even when you’re dead, you can still get humiliated. Just by playing truth or dare.

Chapter 2: No way, Yes way, Why ME?!?!?!

“No way man! Even if I was alive, no way!” I announce to everyone crossing my arms.

“Why not? Isn’t it what you wanted?” Evin asks clearly teasing me. Wait, since when did he know I had a crush on him?

But what the heck we’re dead, ghosts, we can’t feel anything… I think. Oh crud if we can then… ah!

“You chose dare so do it.” Antonio said smirking as I look at Evin with a pleading look but he just shrugs his shoulders. “Sorry man.” He mouthed getting up.

Wait where was he going? I ask then I realized, since I wouldn’t come to him… he’s coming to me! Why me! Oh yeah my dare…shoot.

“We’ll do it, just not here.” Evin says grabbing my hand and guides me to is bedroom.

After locking the door so no one could enter, he covers my mouth before I could say anything, “you ready?” He asks seeing my hesitation and other things. Nodding, he lets go and start kissing me. I have now died… again.

Continuing our “dare” we
