April 2012
Hey guys! It’s another month, and thanks to those of you who are reading! I’m still new to this whole type of writing but I hope I’m doing a good enough job. This month I thought I’d talk about something that I’m going threw at this time, so here it goes. When I was younger my best friend and I started a club in my tree-house, we had all sorts of plans for it, and we were REALLY going to take it somewhere someday. We talked about things to do when we got the money, painting the tree-house was first on our list. We wanted to paint it blue and green so we could make it look like the sky and grass. Well unfortunately after a while we lost contact (she stopped calling me and didn’t return or answer my calls). About two years later I finally got the paint and even if I couldn’t talk to my friend, my other friend helped me paint the tree-house the way it had been planned. We made it look amazing! Now, three years after we painted it the colors we had planed my mom has decided to repaint it. She bought red paint and started, and as much as it kills me, I’m helping to paint it so I can have some control over all this. The friendship between me and my friend is gone but that tree-house has in a way frozen it in time, looking at it I go back to our special summer. To our friendship.
Unfortunately it’s almost completely red now and looking at it, it’s a total different tree-house, and my memories are no longer flashing, they’re fading. It seems stupid and no one understands it but it hurts to see the green and the blue disappearing along with my memories and that perfect friendship. I’m being sentimental I guess but hey, who isn’t? It was my place to go to have my childhood, my summer of happiness, that time of a perfect life back. Now it’s gone. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has or has had something to remember that special time in their life, what was yours? Tell me about it. Where or what was it? What did it remind you of? Maybe it reminded you of a person, who? I wanna hear all about it. Leave a comment telling me about it.

This month’s questions (PLEASE participate! Not a requirement but I’d love to see your responses!)
1. Do you have a special place or thing?
2. What is it?
3. What or who does it remind you of?
4. Do you still have it? If not why not and do you miss it?

This month’s challenge:
Write about, visit, or draw that special place or thing. Remember what has happened with it or in that place. I’d love to read about your places/things. (When I say write about it that means any kind of writing like poems/songs/short stories/ect.) Do whichever you want or maybe just thing about that place or thing.

Thanks for reading!!!

A special thanks to the only person who commented on last month’s issue. Here’s the comment that I love and appreciate so much:
“You Are Brave
And I admire you. Wonderful writing. Love your energy and honesty. I hope this idea goes far. They have started a Teen group in Serious Writers. I think you and this idea would be a tremendous hit there.

I also agree with not living up to a label someone gives you. Don't label yourself either. We are far to complicated as humans that any one label can describe us. Great job. Robynn”
