Aishiteru, Amor and Aloha.
I look up at the moon and wonder: Are you staring at the moon, tonight? I feel a need to write to you, to read to you, to look at the moon with you; all simply to feel just a little bit closer to you. I have a difficult time explaining to my heart why you are not here with me. It cries out with longing. Mozart's "Theme from Elvira Madigan" plays in the background, it's slow beautiful melody echoes the yearning in my heart. But as the melody changes it gives me hope that I will see you soon.
Forget-Me-Not.
On more than one occasion I thought of sleeping in your room last night.
On more than one occasion I realized I would never choose to sleep in a hotel bed over my own. I like my bed; the cool wall to my left such stark contrast to the furnace of your chest.
On more than one occasion I remembered your eyes, the radiant sea green the ocean turns before sunset.
On more than one occasion I hoped you'd miss your flight and stay. For now I'll be content with finding my forgotten charger and beaming with hope and remembrance.
Happy Birthday, Indeed.
"I loved my birthday voice mail message! It's been the best present all day," said He.
Methinks you didn't pick up your phone on purpose so I would sing to your voicemail; lucky voicemail.
"Methinks you know me too well," said He.
What has your day of days been like?
"Introspective, peaceful, and full of good wishes. I'm extremely happy," said He.
Extremely happy is definitely good. More good wishes from the Islands. There was some small South swell in Waikiki to celebrate your birthday; I would have liked to send your Mother a Thank You card today... just saying.
