I was shocked by the sudden gesture but soon reimported the hug. My parents always rained me with love and affection but this hug was different, it’s like mom knows that I need it the most.
Hugging her tightly, I bathed in the comfort of my mom’s warm embrace. I was trying so hard to not cry, I don’t want my parents to be worried.
We sat there, me hugging the life out of my mom, while she was gently rubbing my back.
“So, who is he,”?
Mom asked making me freeze, I retreated and looked at her in shock.
“How the hell she knows,”.
She laughed at my dumbfounded state.
“Sweetie! I’m a mother and mother’s have a strong sense when it comes to their children. Nothing can be unnoticed by a mother. What you thought, that I didn’t notice how you’ve always been sad and depressed since your 18th birthday. I have been in the same phase in my life, so tell me who’s he,”? She said while looking straight into my eyes.
I looked down and told her everything from the very beginning. She listened quietly.
After narrating everything, I looked up to see tears flowing from her eyes.
“Oh, sweetie! Why you didn’t tell us anything,”?
“I don’t know, what to do mom. He doesn’t want anything with me but also didn’t reject me properly. I don’t want you to think, you have a weak daughter,” I said while looking anywhere from my mom.
“You aren’t weak my love. You know what's most painful for a werewolf,”? Mom asked gently and I shook my head in negative.
“Their mate’s betrayal,”.
She took my hand and placed my head in her lap. Gently running her fingers through my hair.
“ Every werewolf dream of having their mate. Meeting our mate is a dream for every werewolf. Some werewolves find their mate at a very young age, while some wait for eternity for their soulmate. And some never find them. I've seen some ending slowly without their mates,” she said while looking outside the window.
Clasping my chin, mom made me look at her.
“Betrayal from a mate is the most painful thing for werewolves. I've seen how they lost their wolves and slowly, succumbed to darkness. How they die every second,” she said and a lone tear escape my eye, remembering the loyalty of my mate on that night.
“Fight my love!” mom said and I looked at her.
“Yes sweetie, you’re not weak. I’ve seen wolves killing themselves because of their mate's betrayal but you my love are the strongest. You’re the Luna for a reason. You’re staying robust for yourselves and others. You’re anything but weak. Your courage is your strength. Mate bond is the purest and deepest, you both are too young to understand this. I don’t want you to succumb to the darkness. Give this bond a chance, fight for your right, but never compromise on your self-respect,” mom said and kissed me on my cheek.
“Your courage is your strength,” Alpha Xavier has said the same thing 15 years ago.
“Want me to tell you a story,” mom asked, breaking me from my reverie.
