My Green Treasure

When I was a child, I was jealous from lot of kids from every child who owned a tree or tree house at his backyard. Of Course my backyard wasn’t so big but it can fit a tree, but the problem that if you want to plant a strong huge tree it need at least 50 years to grow high. I always say to my dad, “Dad can you please plant me a tree in our backyard?” He said one thousand times no. I was so curious and desperate to get tree, so I started to beg my friends to stay at their tree house. They first say yes, but when they see me always sticking around their trees for too long, they would tell me to not come back. Every time they said I would go to a corner and cry for too long. I was only 7! What do you expected me to do, to make a party or just go away normally? One day, I was too lucky. Our family had moved out to another house because my father had been promoted in his job. Please don’t ask what work is. I guarantee they you don’t want to know. As we were saying, I was not interested neither about moving out or about dad’s promotion, until I saw what I was waiting for my whole life: A Tree! And not just a tree, a tree that is huge and strong enough to build a tree house! I was so excited to build the tree house. After couple of days, in the morning I went to my dad to tell him about building a tree house together. I would never ask him that question when he is not drinking his favorite coffee that makes him happy, because my dad is not from the “Easy” Type. After a small conservation with him, he finally accepted my request. So when my father got his one month vacation, we started to prepare the woods, paints, Tools for the tree house. Then we began to build it. When I was building the house, I felt a feeling that I never felt before. It was a special and unique feeling that made me feel that great adventure with my tree. “My Tree” oh! How good to say said after lot of suffering and jealousness from the other kids. It took us exactly one month to finish it. 30 days of hard work. I was so tired the last 4 days of building, so my dad continued alone and wanted to surprise me. When he finished the house completely, He called me to go to see my tree house. I dressed up and ran as fast as I can to see it. When I first saw it, I was shocked and surprised of what I seen, and maybe I choked a little bit because I was eating. “Thanks Dad you’re the best!” I said to him. He instantly hugged me and told me that he was proud of me because of my great work and high spirit. All what I was thinking about that time is what the heck I’m doing here it’s time to see the tree house. I put my left leg on the first step of the ladder. I felt very happy, no I felt super happy and excited. I climbed up and up until I saw the front door. The house was huge! I opened the door slowly and I finally saw my dream house. It was very perfect and unique. So every day, at the morning, I went under the tree to hide from the burning sun. There, I read books and comics then rest a little under the shadow of the tree. I even swing on a tire tied by a rope to a tree branch. When I finish that, I would go back home and have some lunch, then go back to the backyard and climb the tree to get inside the tree house. In the tree house I always play with my action figures or watch TV and sometimes I try to make drawing and hang them on the wall by a nail and a hammer. I was too far from my friends and buds because of our new house but I still keep in touch with them, and especially who owned tree houses so I can brag about my tree that was the biggest tree between us. I only wanted to tease them. As the years passes, my visits to my tree house decreased one by one until when I was sixteen I forgot the tree house completely and let it go. The only thing that was interesting to me was girls. After I got married at the age 25, I lived at my own house, but I never forget my parents, I visited them once a month. In that time, I never saw the tree house again; my parents closed the backyard, and hid it door by a bookshelf. Why? I wished to know why but I never knew. After give years, unfortunately my parents died in a car accident. The car wasn’t even theirs! It was a Taxi… I started to cry for them. As being the only child of them, I will get all their stuff. I took the memories like photos, videos, etc… I Got lot of money from them, first I thought we were not rich, but I knew that he hid the money for my life when he dies. I got an idea on my mind: Buy the land and the territory, build a factory, and then get the solid cash. That was my plan. I did everything on the list so I called some workers to destruct the house and its surrounding. After some time, one of the workers said to me, “Hey, you moved a bookshelf to get it out, and we found a door closed by locks and chains, what do you want us to do?” I replied, “Smash the door!” So that what we did we smashed the door and I saw the old forgotten tree. Then my child memories came to my head. When a person grows up, he doesn’t care about anything but his own benefits, and he would make mistakes that a child could do it right. Well, I was deceived and distracted by money, so I told them to rip off the tree to continue the construction. But then I felt something wrong, and there’s something missing. Then my conscience woke up and said, “that is your tree your memories of childhood and the tree is very important for the environment so instead of building a wasting factory and think about money, keep the tree”. I screamed as loud as I can “Stop! Don’t destroy the tree” then I told them that I want to stop the construction for good. After that I made my own help tree organization called (HPTK) or “help planting trees by kids” where they tell kids to plant trees and take care about them. I maybe lost financial things but I won a green treasure.
