He thanked Master Harrama and left her to her business.
Back on the road, he turned and headed for the crafting sector of town. His first order of business was to find the Leatherworking trainer. He had his letter of introduction from the last trainer, but he hadn’t gotten the name. A glance at the letter showed him he needed to find Master Kinkaid.
When he reached the industrial part of town, he asked around until he found the shop in question. Walking through the door, a burly man with a long beard and mustache greeted him. His long brown hair hung down in scraggly, loose curls. Deep brown eyes glimmered as he watched Atlas enter.
“Can I help you?”
“Yep. Are you Master Kinkaid?”
“Sure am. Do I know you?”
“No. I’m Atlas. I’m new to town and was sent here to continue my Leatherworking training,” Atlas explained as he handed over his introduction letter.
The big man opened the letter and breezed over it before setting it down on the small desk near him.
“Good to know they can send me fully trained leatherworkers from time to time. I guess you need your latest skills then?” Master Kinkaid asked.
“Yes, sir,” Atlas confirmed.
The trainer waved a hand, and the menu popped up in Atlas’ view. Like his woodworking, he now had a new tier of armor to work with. Thick leather was the new set of gear, and he trained everything he could until his current level of 18. The five abilities cost him 2 silver and 50 copper.

Seeing the Vial of Viscous Curing Liquid, Atlas checked the Buy tab for the ingredient. The trainer had plenty on hand and each sold for 50 copper. A check of his inventory showed he had 34 hides on him from his hunting trips. Most of those were from fighting the animals while heading to and from his quests for his staff. He bought the 34 vials he needed to cure his current hides and handed over the 17 silver.
“The process for curing the same on thick hide as it is on soft hide?” Atlas asked.
“Yep, just use the other curing liquid instead.”
Atlas walked away before he realized his mistake. The new patterns still needed Soft Thread, so he needed a few of the older curing liquids to make more thread. He bought 4 Vial of Curing Liquid and then walked to the back of the shop until he found the room with the basin.
Four hides became Cured Soft Leather that he turned into 56 Soft Thread. The other 30 hides became Cured Thick Leather. A quick count showed he needed 16 hides to make the four new pieces of armor he learned. Since he would need them for his possible dungeon run, he made those four pieces first and then swapped out his armor.

The stats on defense were pretty standard and about what he expected, but the surprise was the set bonus boost his new armor provided. He really needed to find a good enchanter to work on getting some added boosts to the gear he made. Ideally, it’d be better if he could do it himself to maximize profits, but it would take a lot of time he didn’t have this early in the game.
Using the rest of his leather, he made four more sets of boots and a set of gloves.
