Stoney glances up from his daughter to meet my gaze, sticking out his free hand. “You have a marker with the club. If you ever need anything, give me a call,” he says, firmly.
Nodding, I take his hand for a brief shake before releasing it and heading back to my bike. “I’ll hold you to that marker, but let’s just say don’t wait for my call,” I call out over my shoulder.
Straddling my bike, I pull out my phone real fast to check it only to find a message from Beast saying Emery never came back to the house.
Fuckin’ hell.
Pulling up her number I’d had Ram get for me, I slide my finger over the call button and put it to my ear. When it goes to voicemail, I grind my teeth together and dial her number again only to get the same thing.
Damnit, I’m going to end up strangling this woman.
Going to my text messages I pull up Ram’s name and tell him to locate her phone then I send one to her.
Me: Your ass is in trouble. Just wait until I get a hold of you. Be prepared to not sit for a week. Get the fuck home now. If I come after you it will be more than a week.
My phone immediately beeps again. At first, I figured it was Ram responding but instead I’m surprised to find it’s Emery.
Emery: Go fuck yourself. You’re not touching me and I sure as hell don’t want you to. How about you go enjoy your baby momma and leave me alone. Don’t worry, you won’t have to worry about me and our son invading your nice little life here.
What the fuck is she talking about baby momma? Then it dawns on me she saw me holding Corinne. This is some fucked up bullshit that needs to be fixed right now. I’m not about to have her threaten to not only leave again but take my son with her.
Fuck that. She’s going to learn her place.
Me: Angel, don’t bullshit me. Get your ass home and don’t think you can up and leave again. I’m not about to let you get away again not by a long shot. You and I have unfinished business and the price is too high for you to settle it overnight.
As my message sends, I get another text, this one from Ram telling me she’s down in Avon.
Motherfucker! I should have known she’d go there. It’s the one place I haven’t been to since the day Ghoul stopped me from putting a bullet in my head.
Great, looks like it’s a day for a blast from the past.
“Bane, you and the rest of the brothers head back to the clubhouse. I’m calling for church tomorrow night at nine p.m. I’ll be back by then. Also call Beast for me, have him and Toxin bring Demi and my son to the clubhouse. They can stay there tonight,” I say, shoving my phone back in my pocket.
“Alright, you good?” he asks, furrowing his brow.
“Yeah, I’ll be fine. Just going to teach my wife what her fuckin’ place is,” I state before taking off. Not wanting to waste any more time knowing I’m going to have a bit of a ride ahead of me. I plan to use it wisely. To think of a way to make her pay for not only pissing me the hell off but for causing my dick to get hard.
Damn her. It’s time she starts paying for everything she’s done to me.
Chapter Eight
Emery
“What do you mean you're not at the house? Where are you?” I ask trying to stay calm, not wanting to yell at my own son.
“Beast said we could go hang out at the clubhouse. Said Dad wanted me to get to know his brothers. Isn’t that cool Momma,” he says sounding so excited.
“That sounds amazing baby. But where’s Aunt Demi?” I ask doing my best to keep my heart from beating out of my chest. I’d called Demi only to have her not answer the phone. So, I called Stone.
When he first said they were at the clubhouse, I saw red. That means my son is around the other woman who gave my husband a child.
“Umm, Aunt Demi is currently in an argument with someone,” he says softly.
“Well where’s your dad?” After his last text message, I haven’t heard anything else from him and I can’t help but be filled with dread.
“He’s not here yet. According to the guy Aunt Demi is yelling at Dad’s still out handling club business,” Stone says nonchalantly.
Club business my ass.
“Okay baby. Well why don’t you get Aunt Demi and go get ready for bed? It’s almost your bedtime,” I suggest as I try to keep from yawning while leaning my head against the headboard of my bed. I’d been able to get into the Sand Dollar Motel in Buxton. This time of year, I’m surprised to have been able to get that. July is one of the busiest months for tourism here in the Outer Banks and though I hate crowds, this part of the islands isn’t as bad as the main island.
“Momma, I’m not tired but I do think I should save Aunt Demi before she gets hurt. The guy she’s talking to seems to be getting really mad,” he says laughing.
Oh God, my sister is going to end up getting herself killed if she doesn’t control her temper. She is not one to be told what to do. Demi doesn’t follow orders and makes her own rules. Her motto in life is ‘Fuck everyone else. Do what you want and kill those in your way.’ Yeah, she’s a crazy person, but I
