her. No, she’s graduated from university and is volunteering at the school where Mathias attends. Hell, if it weren’t for Alison, Mitch never would have known.

I would say I want something like that with a woman, but I prefer the no strings, no headache policy. Staying single right now is the way to go, less chance of dealing with women getting clingy and expecting shit out of you. Different pussy every night if I want.

Looking at the woman, still passed out on the bed next to me, I grin. She’d been the best yet. If I were to go against my policy, I’d definitely plant her in my bed for more than one night. The woman had stamina and took everything I gave her during the four different rounds we went at it before passing out.

Standing, I lean over and brush my fingers through the thick strands of her dark hair. I’d been drawn to her at the nightclub last night, seeing her dance like a fuckin’ dark-haired fairy casting a spell on all the men watching the floor.

She and her friends were hot. When I left with her, Marc and Beau were both flirting with her friends.

I straighten and turn away from her naked form. Walking to the door, I leave her apartment, not paying attention to the fact it sits over a bookshop or anything else. Making my way to my car, I slide in behind the steering wheel. I start the car and pull out of the space I’d parked in after we’d gotten here from the club.

Ten minutes later, I pull into my driveway and park next to my truck. I put the car in park, cut the engine, and get out. My brows furrow at the sound of crying coming from a box on my front porch.

“What the fuck?” I mutter to myself as I get closer and see a baby wrapped in a blanket lying there.

Oh shit. Picking it up, I snag the note attached to the baby’s blanket and flip it over.

This is your baby. You raise it. I’m out and don’t worry, I won’t come after him. He’s not worth it. – Naomi.

Who the fuck is Naomi?

I don’t remember fuckin’ a chick with that name. Then again, I don’t usually get the woman’s name and if they give it, I forget it. No reason to remember a name if I don’t intend to keep them around.

Turning back toward my vehicles, I carry the baby to my truck rather than my car, lay the baby on the backseat, and back out of the driveway. I make my way to the clinic Dean’s cousins’ ol’ lady runs. Both Connors and Jordan work there, and I can only hope that one of them will be there when I pull up.

“Kenyon, I rushed the results of the DNA test for you, and it looks like the baby is yours,” Connors’ says over the phone a few days after finding the baby boy on my porch. We’d been taken straight to the hospital after because evidently, he’d only just been born hours beforehand.

Who the fuck would dump a kid right after they were born on someone’s porch? It angers me to think of this happening to Ryland. It’s the name I’d picked for him. It didn’t matter to me if he was mine or not because being around him the last few days made me think of my life, and I realize I needed to change it, especially for him.

Smiling down at Ryland, I look at his sleeping face.

“You hear that, Ry, you’re definitely mine and I promise you no one will hurt you. Not with me watching over you,” I say, not missing the smile that Connors gives us as she leaves me alone with my son.

Now I just have to worry about what I’m gonna do when I take him home. I’d called Dean and Mitch about him after I’d gotten to the hospital. They’d tasked Bridget and Alison with going to get provisions for him. I’m sure when I get home, I’ll see the house filled with everything I need for Ryland.

Chapter 1

Enya

Present Day

The bell over the door jingles and I look up to smile at Zoe, one of my two very best friends.

“You’re early,” I say, getting the book ready for story time. Owning a bookstore and coffee shop all in one has its perks. One being Zoe working here as the barista. Another being story time for the kids that come into the shop while their moms or dads have a coffee and relax.

“Yeah, I needed to get myself a coffee after last night. My head is killin’ me,” Zoe groans, heading behind the counter where she works her magic.

“Maybe you shouldn’t go out so much and get drunk,” I advise, knowing it won’t stop her from going out and partying. While I have fun when she and Lillian force me to go out with them, I’m more for staying in. After escaping my stepfather’s clutches, alongside my twin sister, Ensley, a few years ago, I’m content to stay on the down-low. I don’t want him to find my sister or me even if she’s a horrible witch most of the time and demanding money that she needs to keep herself high.

I don’t see how the two of us look so much alike, yet we’re far from similar in any way. Sighing, I shake my head and go back to what I was doing while Zoe shrugs her response while downing the coffee she’s made.

An hour goes by and the parents start strolling in with their children. Alison and Bridget come in together with Bridget’s little boy. He’s a sweetheart and loves to sit in my lap while I read to them all. I’ve become friendly with the two of them. They’re both from Ireland, which I find really cool. My father had been from Ireland, from what my mom told Ensley and me growing up. On her
