thrust deeper, reaching where he hadn’t touched her before.

She came alive for him, and her building ripple of muscles tightened around him. She cried out, and he thrust again. Her orgasm exploded. Her body quivered, every muscle clenching and releasing around him.

Through one wave and then the next, each as blissfully brutal and sweetly demanding, he loved her within an inch of her life, promising without a damn word that he’d give her everything she ever wanted and more.

HIS ERECTION twitched inside her, stroked her inner walls, and waves of pleasure tickled her spine yet again. Her muscles tightened, and vibrations buzzed across her skin. She rocked her hips, rubbing herself against him, reveling in every thrust, and drowning in his scent.

She embraced another incoming climax, wanting nothing more than for him to come with her. She felt the rhythm of their perfect dance down to her bones, and she thrashed for more, needing his strength to push her to climactic heaven, and then she combusted again, rippling over him while extraordinary flashes of satisfaction blew through her.

HIS EYES closed as a tsunami of sensations engulfed him, and she called his name, loud and guttural. Her muscles swallowed him, squeezing hard and sending shockwaves of shivers down his shaft and up to his spine. They darted through every part of his body, sensations such as he’d never felt before. His hips surged, and, with almost manic thrusts, he shuddered, holding her to him. And his mind shattered in ecstasy.

And then, somewhere in the dark recesses of his mind, he heard again what his mom, Maggie O’Grady, said when he nearly died…

Stay alive. The love of your life is coming.

A HEAVENLY second of watching him, seeing him lost in her, was all Ensley needed to come again, and she mouthed his name while his emerald eyes locked on to hers.

Her heart swelled with every second that passed until it encompassed the entire universe.

And then she remembered what Erik told her the day she fell off the bull and almost died…

Always remember you have the handprints of your ancestors on your heart. And when you are ready, your true love will find you.

Mallory Plantation, VA—Austin

Austin woke up with the sun shining in his eyes. He hadn’t closed the drapes during the night because he and Ensley had enjoyed watching the stars during their all-night romp in the king-size bed.

There were several condom wrappers on the bedside table and dirty dishes scattered all over the room. Ted had stocked the kitchenette with peanut butter protein smoothies, chocolate milk, bananas, and apples with almond butter. Without the protein to restore his energy and muscles, Austin couldn’t have kept up with Ensley. She was insatiable, or else she missed her bull-riding days.

Damn! He loved his woman.

He rolled over and pulled her close, whispering in her ear, “I love you, cowgirl.”

She perked up, lifting her head slightly. “Back atcha, cowboy.”

He rubbed her bare ass and gave her a little swat. “It’s eight fifteen. If we’re going to the gym, we need to roll.”

“What if I promise a blow job or something? Can we stay in bed?”

“I’d take you up on it, then swat your ass. We promised to be at the gym, and MacCorp’s position is if you say you’ll do something or be somewhere, you do it or get docked.”

“What does that mean?”

“The going rate is a thousand bucks for a missed meeting or missed gym appointment. If you miss Thanksgiving or Christmas after saying you’ll be wherever the family is gathering, it’ll cost you two grand. Other holidays are less.”

“Sounds like the family expects you to spend every holiday together. I don’t think I like that. What if you want to go skiing or to the beach?”

“Oh, you can go, just don’t RSVP that you’re coming and then be a no-show. That’ll cost you.”

“Then RSVP that you won’t be there, and then come at the last minute.”

“That’ll cost you as well.”

“God, Elliott is a control freak.”

“It seems that way, but with all that’s going on, we have to depend on each other. If there’s a weak link, we could all get killed.”

“Wait a minute. If you were isolating yourself from the family, why’d they want to send you on a rescue mission? You weren’t at all dependable and could have gotten everyone killed.”

“Shock therapy, I guess, or else Pops knew something no one else knew. I haven’t had a one-on-one with him yet. I’ll find out.”

“So, how much do you owe MacCorp for not showing up?”

“Probably twenty grand.”

She sucked in a quick breath. “Twenty grand! Are you insane? I couldn’t sleep if I owed that much money.” She shook her head. “I guess that’s the difference between growing up wealthy and growing up on a small ranch in North Dakota.”

“I didn’t grow up wealthy. Pops was Deputy Chief of Police with the NYPD, and JL, Shane, Connor, Rick, and Jeff were all cops. We were comfortable but not at all wealthy. When JL married Kevin and everybody joined MacCorp, their lives changed. They started flying on private planes, staying in five-star hotels, and driving expensive cars. For me, I went to the University of Kentucky, and then I was drafted by the Cavs and made my own money.”

“So you’ve never worked for MacCorp?”

“I did an internship at Montgomery Winery when I was in high school, but that’s it. That was my exposure to wealthy people.”

“And you wanted to be like them?”

“No, I only wanted to play basketball, but I was happy for my family.” Austin chuckled. “I thought they’d all be safer working for MacCorp than they would be working for the NYPD. Boy, I was wrong about that.”

Both his phone and Ensley’s beeped with incoming text messages. Austin reached for his phone, but Ensley covered her head with the sheet.

“I’m not here, and you haven’t seen me,” she said, burrowing into him.

“Everybody knows where we are. And in ten minutes Ted and Laurence will know
