The Fallen One..
.
“Its time, you’re old enough to go and create your own pack with your loved one.” Shadow-Tail bowed his head and headed west, he looked back and ‘sighed’. “Its no use, no one could ever love me!” His pitch black fur wondered endlessly through the woven trees. He wandered until he came upon a lake; he dropped his head and took a couple of sips. With his guard down he didn’t notice a beautiful golden brown female watching him. Shadow-tail lifted his head and caught the smell of this strange female; he laid down waiting for her to present herself. The female walked out cautiously, he small paws walking the soft earth towards the large male. Shadow-tail tilted his head to the side, “don’t be afraid, I don’t want to harm you.” She sat down, “I’m not afraid!” she retorted. “What’s your name?” “Star-Dust, I was once of the great pack Whisper.” “Oh, well my name is Shadow-Tail, once of the great pack Night-Wing.” The she-wolf just laughed, “There is no pack greater than mine!” Shadow-Tail stood up, “we have the greatest fighters, want to try me?” Star-Dust stood up and her fur stood on end, Shadow-tail did the same. In one instant minute teeth met claws, the two wolves fought. Shadow-Tail finally had her pinned, and began to laugh. Star-Dust rolled and flipped him on his back and bite into his shoulder, he winced in pain “I give up!” Star-Dust just laughed, “Never underestimate your opponent.” Shadow-Tail wiggled from her grip and stood up, “so why aren’t you with your pack then?” “There was an epidemic among us, im the only one to survive” she sat down, out of breath. Shadow-Tail pointed towards the lake “drink, your going to need it.” She walked towards the lake and drunk two sips of water, “thanks.” Shadow-Tail watched the beautiful she-wolf, she’s pretty he thought. The she-wolf noticed him staring at her, “what you looking at?!” she retorted. “Nothing, nothing at all” he laid his head on his front paws, the sun was going down. Star-Dust lay down beside him, trying to keep warm. He smiled, in no time she will be mine, He thought. The next morning Star-Dust woke to find Shadow-Tail gone; she looked around calling out his name. The bushes next to her moved she stood alarmed and ready, out walked Shadow-tail with two white rabbits. “You hungry?” he asked dropping a rabbit in front of her, “yes, thank you.” She began to eat on the rabbit; he sat down and ate his. After their meal they both began to clean their muzzles. Shadow-Tail made a move; he walked over to Star-Dust and licked her behind her ears. She drew back, “what’s wrong?” he asked. “Nothing, it’s just hard to trust again.” Shadow-Tail leaned against her and nuzzled his head into hers, “don’t worry, I’m always going to be here.” Star-Dust rested her head on his shoulder, “I hope so.” Shadow-Tail stood in front of Star-Dust and bowed hi head, “will you be my mate? My companion? Mother of my pups?” Star-Dust just stared at him, “yes, I would love to.” Shadow-Tail licked her all over her head, “calm down” Star-Dust told him. He just looked at her “Sorry, im just so happy!” She cocked her eye at him and walked off into the woods. He followed quietly behind her. The two wolves walked endlessly going miles, only stopping to eat and drink. Finally the two came across a den; it was made using a tree trunk and two rocks. She went inside and sniffed, “I like it” she told Shadow-Tail, “me too” he walked around it sniffing, and marking his territory. 9 weeks later, you could hear the whimpering and whining of four beautiful pups. Shadow-Tail stood outside the den with a rabbit, “you hungry?” “Yes, please” Star-Dust stood up and grabbed the bunny and went back in side to eat. Shadow-Tail laid outside of the den and fell asleep.
