Longing
I feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and thoughts of our evening tryst interrupt my morning. Strolling the garden I am refreshed with the new day, and the scent of flowers is overpowering. I am gathering freshly cut blooms--roses, a symbol of love--to welcome you again this night.
Floating along as mist with no direction, swept off my
feet enraptured by you.
My mind is crowded and overflowing with so many beautiful
intertwining expressions of last night.
Love notes you whispered and at times called out to me.
Did I perchance dream you came to me in the dark of the night?
I stood at my window, gazing up into the evening sky.
Your voice ever so faintly shot through the night air,
and somehow enticed me to such heights of ardor and
anticipation.
***
With the moon's light shielded by the enormous trees, everything lives in the shadows abandoned by the glare of the sun .
Unable and unwilling to hold back the passion I have for you...
My eyes are wide open; it is no dream as I see your silhouette.
I implore you to open your ears, and hear myself beckoning you to my side. You are all
that I want and need. Kiss my outstretched limbs.
Let me reach my hands out to touch you and welcome you back to me, to my untamed rivers flowing so freely for you to navigate.
Let me dwell in the obscure sweetness of you; the real
that I long for.
I will allow you to trace and touch my lips, and cause me to quiver.
I might have died, for such pleasure you brought me last night. I call to you this night. Do not deny me. Return to me again.
***
I feast on the words you whispered to me, and I only have a hunger for you. Let me invite you to my table, allow me to feed you fruit cradled in my hands that live for you to kiss and touch.
Permit me to sit next to you and warm you with my body’s fervor.
This is such torture, wondering where you are and if you have remembrance of our love shared.
I long to feel your body next to mine, to lie in your embrace.
In your arms I will not sleep, but breathe you in deeply as we dissolve into each other to become one.
Tonight I invoke you to open your ears and your heart. Let me live in you and with you.
I crave your lips, your love, please put out this fire.
I pray you hear my plea.
I am here at my window. I am waiting for you.
