Waiting
This long day is slipping away
and I gladly bid it farewell.
For soon the sun will set and my eyes
will behold the artistry
of mother nature’s display.

In a breathtaking painting
where the oranges and purples merge.
When the sun has taken his leave
this day and slips away
the stars explode across
the midnight blue sky.

The moon steps out and claims his space
a mere sliver of what he use to be.

You are my essence my all and I wait for you.
Your book is displayed on my table waiting for you.

Suddenly you are at my door,
I run to you remembering how we found
love in a single kiss.

Come into me my love. Curiously I see your hand behind your back I am puzzled.
You enter and your kiss devours me.
Your hand is tracing the outline of my face
and you reach for the ribbon in my hair
and release it.

Your hand comes from behind your back
and drops a strand of stars in my hair,
and I am glowing.
My body turns to liquid as you draw me tightly in.

How we came into the room was a mystery.
Your book is on the table and you pick it up to where we left off.

Like a hungry animal I pace around you not trusting myself to stop.

When you read your words they make
heavenly imprints on my skin.
I collapse on the pillows of down and I feel the fire and tenderness of our love.
