The first day of school, learning the rules;
She's trying to find her way.
Each day's the same, they're playing their games;
While she sits alone, far away.
'Cause every day is the same, when you're invisible.

The recess bell rings, she runs to a swing;
And sits there on her own.
Nobody comes near, so they just can't hear;
Her crying to go home.
'Cause you're always all alone, when you're invisible.

Each day at two, the back of the room;
She sits there tucked away.
A question is asked, but she's the one they pass;
Though she knows the answer anyway.
'Cause everything's that way, when you're invisible.

End of the day, she's on her way;
When a girl by her side smiles and waves.
They talk on the way home, and then some more by phone;
And a friendship is started that way.
'Cause sometimes your okay, though you're invisible.

You don't really have to be invisible.
