Should I run or fall?
Cracks and crumbles the world beneath me.
I stare in silent horror,
hoping something will keep it from giving out on me.
The ground starts to part beneath my feet.
I try to think of my choices.
I can run or fall.
If I run, it will catch up with me.
If I fall, I will get hurt.
It is too late. I fall.

Stranger
I look in the mirror.
I see a stranger who looks like me.
Same blond hair, same dull blue eyes.
Never a smile, but not a frown either.
Something dark lies behind her eyes.
I am no longer myself.

Two Hearts
Two hearts meant to be together.
One boy whose perfect in every way,
and one girl who messes everything up.
They keep their hearts locked up,
afraid to get hurt again.
As soon as the hearts get free,
They are shoved back into their cages.
Two hearts meant to be together,
but never will again.

Numb
Numb during the day.
Not a single smile.
She is as cold as ice.
Thaws during the night.
Comes to life,
and all she can do is cry.
She is silently screaming into her pillow.
She is wishing someone would hear her.
She has lost everything,
yet she wants to give more.
She wants him to believe her.

Take It Away
His eyes seemed sad. I wanted to take them away.
His soul seemed dead. I wanted to take it away.
I wanted to take all his sadness away and bury it.
I'd give him new eyes for him to keep.
I'd give him a new soul for him to keep.
It would make him the same, but different somehow.
It would change him a little, but not much.
It would make him happier.
It would be better.
It would have to be.
He would still love me.
He would still smile.
It would be better with no more sadness and death

Haunting Memories
Her haunting, smiling face mocking me.
Why didn't you visit me?
Why weren't you nicer?
Why aren't you like your perfect cousins?
I knew you liked them best.
More than you would ever like me.
You thought I was a failure,
But look whose six feet deep now?
You.

A Shadowed Figure of a Father
The father figure in my life is only a shadow
who disappears in and out of my life.
When I need him most
he is gone in a blink of an eye.
When I wake up in the middle of the night,
he never is there.
When I fall and can't get up,
he never is there.
I need him to tell me everything is okay.
I need him to help me up.
I need him,
but he is only a shadow who doesn't really exist.

The Boy Who Gave Up After a Few Tries
Tossing my heart back and forth
Will he drop it?
Will he break it?
It falls from his fingertips,
but he catches it.
It falls, and he catches it again.
A never ending cycle of falling and catching.
Only the next time it slips and breaks.
He just apologizes and walks away.

The Beast
Sad brown eyes haunting my dreams.
"He's no longer here,"They taunt.
"You could not help him."
"How could you expect to help him when you can't even help yourself."
I wake up to their words ringing in my ear.
I look at his face. Only peaceful when he's asleep.
They're right,"I decide, and I let the beast take him.
The only thing that can help him.

Relationships Are Like a Puzzle
A puzzle so unclear.
Huge chunks of pieces missing.
I don't know where to find them.
I don't know what to do.
I looked around school to no avail.
I looked on the web to find one piece so close to fitting.
I banged the piece with a hammer,
but it wouldn't go in completely even with my force.
Now, I'm stuck here not knowing how to fix the puzzle I call my life.
Or so it seems.
