Falling
I remember the big bright red sun covering the horizon
like a beautiful blanket in the sky
relecting like diamonds in my eyes
and everything made sense and everything was okay
but only for a second, only on that day
the world seemed so big and wonderful
but in reality and in morality
its actually only evil and destruction
and no one can reconstruct
because we're falling and we're falling
and no one can help us up
the caliginous world seems faded
when really we're all just trying to make our mark
to get to the front, to make it to the top
when in the end, we will be the end
but what if the end isn't the end
what if the end is just the beginning
but in the beginning we're just falling and falling
and there's no way out
because there's no doubt
we must pay for our mistakes
or we will drown out
without someone to tell us we were wrong
because everyone is wrong
and our fight is lifelong
but what if life isn't long
what if we're going no where
just back and forth like a ping pong
but then we're just falling and falling
hoping, praying someone will pick us up
because the world is graying and graying
and evils saying just to let go
but we're falling
the world opens up its arms and reaches for us
but we're too ignorant to take its hand
its the worlds arms that causes us to fall
its the worlds arms that gives us that final push right over the dark edge
its the worlds arms that puts us on the wheel of life
we dig and dig for a way out
but we're right were we started
alone
afraid
resentful
the worlds cold core closes
the bleak black charcoal skies close in and then we're cornered
without anyone to help us then
why is it that no one helps us when we need it
don't our needs count
then answer is always "of course not"
we mask the pain and suffering with a smile that says "its okay"
but what if its not okay
children are growing up too fast these days
or maybe the lack of
imagine its your birthday
13 years old and having to tell your mother she will be a grandmother
the tears she cries
because she knows there is now a gravestone where your life lies
12 years old
choosing to lose your innocence
in that moment the cold world seems its coldest
you curl into a ball while your 18 year old boyfriend gets a smoke
and the world falls a little more
11 years old
hiding behind the railroad tracks
choking on the smoke filling your lungs
but you're too young
they're all too young
we're all on a fast track
if we're not strung out then we're hung out
this world keeps falling and falling
we pray to God, asking him for a way out
but there is no way out
thats when we find out own way out
almost a million people commit suicide every year
we compose lies that cover up the truth
when the truth will set you free
resentment
regret
the silhouette of your past is a ball chained to your leg
restraining you from moving on
feeling like you're never moving on
always a step behing
always a second late
confined in a box with no holes
slowing falling a little deeper into despair
comparing everything to what could have been
to what would have been
what has this world come to
when a mother buries her 10 year old daughter
who took her own life
because of the black skies
drowning out her bright light
because even the brightest lights eventually fade out
some are stronger than others
some can hold on longer than others
but when the walls are closing in
we all just keep on falling and falling
parents walk without children
children walk without parents
both just looking for someone to love them
but what if love doesn't exist
we dismiss the lies to get to the truth
but we don't want to hear the truth
we only want to hear what we want to hear
and although we can't bare the truth
the truth is
we're all standing on the edge
praying we don't slip into the deep dark abyss
because then we'd start falling
