Prologue: The Tale of Marissa and Ayden; how the twins came to be
Marissa -a young woman about 20 in appearance with bright blue eyes speckled with orange green, yellow, and purple, and medium length hair- walked into the bar slowly knowing something was gonna happen. She sat down next to the bar, and ordered a screwdriver. As the bell above the door jingled, Marissa turned to see who was coming in. Her eyes met with a young man's. His eyes a deep brown with red and yellow mixed in. Marissa could feel the pull to him strengthen. She felt herself getting lost in his eyes, to stop this she quickly turned around and stared at the bar -more like glaring at it.
She could feel his presence growing stronger and she could hear his footsteps moving closer.
"Two shots please" Said the young man. Marissa could have sworn he was maybe 23 in appearance. His tall frame, maybe 6'3'', easily towering over her small 5'4'' body. "Hello." He said to her.
She looked up and nodded towards him. "Hey"
He held out his hand and smiled. "Ayden. Your name?"
She smiled and shook his hand. "Marissa. You have a weird ass way of flirting you know?"
He chuckled under his breath. "I didn't know I was supposed to flirt with you."
She smiled and chugged her drink. "Well it was nice meeting you." She slowly got up and walked to the door. She walked outside and shuddered in the gust of wind. She walked down the street her heels clicking against the pavement. She stopped and waited for the crosswalk to turn green. She felt a hand on her back and she froze up.
"You know what they say about a woman walking down the street alone right? She's easy pray." A manly voice whispered into her ear.
She could feel the face move closer to hers and she turned quickly and punched, only for her hand to be caught. She stared up at the face and saw Ayden.
“Do you know what they say about men who sneak up on women-” She was caught off by his lips crashing into her's. She pulled away and looked at him like he was crazy. “Why?”
“Because I know you felt what I did in that bar. I know I'm not the only one. Don't lie to me. Please don't?” His voice begged his eyes burning into her's. She closed her eyes and smiled.
“Ayden, I know what you are. And you know what I am. Please don't do this.” She started to slowly back away. She turned quickly and ran to her car, only to be stopped.
“Marissa! PLEASE!” He begged and got on his knees. She rolled her eyes and pulled him up. She kissed him gently and looked at him.
“My house.” She whispered against his lips and in minutes they were at her house. They slowly made their way down the hall and into her room. Slowly throwing off each others cloths and sounds of pleasure came out of the house.
9 Months Later
“Ayden!” Marissa screamed at the top of her lungs, as a clear liquid slowly moved down her leg.
“Yes my love?” Ayden said slowly walking into the room.
“MY. WATER. JUST. BROKE.” She said through closed teeth. He ran in, picked her up and the baby bag. He ran out to the car and put her in and then got in and took off towards the hospital. They got there in about 5 minutes even though they lived about 30 minutes from it.
12 Hours Later
Marissa and Ayden both held their two small twin girls, both as healthy as can be. Marissa named, the one that looked most like her, Ariabella and Ayden named the smaller one Annabelle. Ariabella and Annabelle would be their dirty little secret til the day they died, to bad tat day came sooner than later.
3 Months Later
After running for so long, Ayden and Marissa were feeling lonely without their daughters. Having left them in the care of their best friend's, the girls were the safest their. Soon they were captured and were separated. On their dying day they were brought together one last time. Marissa cried for what seemed like forever and it didn't help that Ayden was slowly dying with each of her tears. CHAPTER 1: ARIABELLA'S P.O.V
Waking up to the sound of the alarm clock and the end of the dream was horrible. I could still hear my mothers voice begging for forgiveness, my father's voice begging for one last chance, and their screams echoing through my ears. I could never shake the feeling off that I had after that dream.. and sometimes it had scared me. My mother and father died to keep us safe. To keep the abominations safe as our grandfathers called us.. I cried and wiped the tear quickly. In 21 days my twin, Annabelle, and I will be turning 18 and then we are on our own.. 21 days. Sometimes I cant believe it. I wish our mother was here. I know she would be disappointed at me, with me cutting myself and being a very dark person even though between me and my sister I should be the brightest of us both.
