"hey, Ready for school?" justin walked into my room. "your mom let me in." he said when i looked up at him. "more or less." i stood up and found my cell phone. "are you already ready?" i nodded, "i woke up early." he nodded, "well we have an hour before school starts what do you want to do?" i grinned, "surprise me."
we drove back to the woods. we didnt go all the way to the spot. that wouldve took to long and we only had a hour. we stopped when we couldnt see the truck anymore. justin climbed up on a branch and sat down. i looked up at him. "coming up here or what." he stuck his hand out. i rolled my eyes and took it. he pulled me up, "will it take half an hour to get you back down this time?" he laughed as i hit his arm. "no,"
we just sat there for a while. "when is your dad moving?" i asked finaly. he shrugged "i dont know yet he has to find a house he likes and with his taste it will take a while." he laughed "but that just means he will have an awesome house for me to visit so its worth the wait to see him." i grinned, "thats nice." he looked over, "that also means you get to see him too. your like the daughter he never had. he would love to see you." he laughed, "he actually complains every time i forget to give him news on how your doing or show him a picture." i laughed, "thats nice." he looked over, "you okay? your awefull quiet." i nodded "fine."
my dad had died when i was 10. until justins parents got divorced i hung out with justins dad everytime justin did. we talked for a few more minutes. "time to get down." he stood up helping me. "kk," i got down on the branch below, almost slipping. justin grabbed my arm. "you okay there?" i nodded and continued. we got all the way down, and started to walk back. "ready for school?" he asked as we got into the truck. "eh, not really" i muttered. he laughed, "schools not the best way to spend a day but its the first day of the year so no work. thats something" i nodded "i guess." he looked over at me, "whats wrong?" i shook my head, "nothing." he pulled in the parking lot. "your lying rose. somethings wrong," i shook my head again, getting out of the truck. justin came over to my side of the truck.
"whats wrong rose?" i shook my head again. i may have been going to this school for a long time, but this is the first time ive had a black eye, from a boyfriend. "nothing lets get our schedules." i start to walk toward the building but justin stops me puting his hands on the car caging me against the car. "you cant lie to me rose. something is wrong, what is it?" i looked down, "i . . ." i looked over to where brandon was standing by the door talking to his friends. justin looked at where i was staring and turned back to me. "hes not going to hurt you." i nodded, a tear sliding down my cheek. justin kissed where the tear was and looked into my eyes. "i promise that he wont hurt you and if he does he wont live to see tommorow." i smiled, "your gonna get killed one day."
we went to class and the day carried on. we had the same schedule except for two classes. i had art when he had gym. he had art while i had gym. he walked me to art class and left for the other building. i turned around from the paint drawer to see brandon starring at me. i walked over to my picture and started to paint. "rose?" i ignored him. "come on rose. you cant ignore me forever." i took a deep breathe and turned around. "what?"
"im sorry." he looked up at me. "what i did was wrong and i understand that." i nodded, "okay, apology excepted." i turned back to my painting. "great! so, me and you tonight then?" i turned back to him. "no actually. you can apologize all you want, but that doesnt change anything. where still done. sorry." i continued painting. "youll change your mind rose. i know you will. and when you do, ill be waiting." he walked away.
"hey, how was art?" justin came up to my locker. "fine, i painted a tree that looked like a balloon." he laughed, "care if i walk you to english?" he held out his arm. "why not at all," i replied taking it. "so brandon didnt give you anything in art?" he asked as the bell rang. we sat down and i scribbled on a piece of paper.
Me: he apolagized
Justin: good he shouldve
Me: ya i guess
Justin: is that all he did?
Me: ya
Justin: you cant lie on paper either. what he do.
Me: im not lying he apolagized and then we went back to our work.
Justin: sure whatever. youll tell me eventually.
Me: theres nothing to tell.
Justin: still cant lie
the last bell rang and i headed for the truck. "rose, wait." justin ran by me. "what happend?" i shook my head, "you cant know everything." i got into the truck. he slid into the drivers seat. "i guess your right you deserve to keep secrets." i nodded, "thank you." he grinned, "anytime." i shook my head, "not just for that for everything. the brandon thing, staying with me, and for not rubbing it in how stupid i was." he frowned, "your not stupid rose. you just never see whats in front of you." he pulled up to my house, and got out. "what?" i followed him, unlocking the door. "what do you mean by that?" he went up to my room. "hello?" i followed. "come here." he sat on my bed, i sat infront of him crossleged. "explain what you mean. please." he laughed, "you didnt see what a big jerk brandon was untill he hit you. you didnt see the fact that you would have to also climb down from the tree untill you had to. and you never saw how. . ." i looked up at him. "how what?" he looked in my eyes, "how . .much. .i care. . about" he looked down. "you can tell me anything justin." he grinned looking back up. "i know." he placed a hand on my cheek. "i absolutely know." he leaned in closer, "you never saw how much i cared about . . .you." he tilted my head up, brushing his lips against mine.
"how long have i been this blind?" i asked pulling away. "a few years." he looked up grinning. "but it was worth the wait." i smiled, "im sorry." he laughed, "dont be, like i said, worth the wait." my grin got bigger. "you have the cutest smile." he said before kissing me again. "thank you." i looked in his eyes. he grinned, "you seem to be saying that alot." he kissed me.
we jumped apart when someone knocked on the front door downstairs. "just stay here. ill get it." i got up and ran downstairs. "im coming!" i called pulling open the door. "oh, hi." brandon stood outside my door. "hey, i . .um. ." i shook my head, "nows not a really good time brandon." he nodded, "is there anything i could do to help or anything?" i shook my head, "i think you should leave." he nodded as i shut the door. i ran back upstairs.
"who was it?" justin asked as i came through the door. "the royal pain himself." justin frowned, "and?" i shook my head, "you said i deserved to keep some things to myself." he nodded, "fair enough." i walked over to him. "you know there is one thing great about the first day of school." justin said wrapping his arms around me. "and that would be?" i asked as he kissed my forhead. "only one week left untill your birthday." i rolled my eyes, "what was that reaction for?" justin laughed. "nothing i just dont get why everyone thinks a birthday is a big deal." i explained, while justin busted up laughing. "it is the day you came into this world. it is a day for celebration."
The next day went on normally up until history. justin didnt go to school that day, because his dad took him out to look at houses. it started out normal until the teacher left for a few minutes to go run arons. "rose," brandon came up behind me. "ya," i turned around. "we need to talk." i shook my head, "theres nothing to talk about. i excepted your apology. we done here?" he grinned, "you could always be sarcastic when you wanted to." i nodded, "okay." i turned back to my work. "come on rose, at least let me have one lunch. we need to talk regardless to what you think." i turned back around. "im free today and today only." he grinned, "cool."
lunch came by and i sat at a table alone for a while. then brandon came up and sat down next to me. "im surprised your actualy here." he admitted opening his soda. "ya, so you wanted to talk?" he nodded, "i know you said it didnt make a difference, whether i apologized or not, but i think that-" "it doesnt make a difference, you could give me a two hour speech and it wouldnt change anything." he nodded, "i know, and i understand why you would say that. i just think that if mayby you gave me another chance that-" "that what? that we can go back to you telling me what were going to do and i just follow along like some puppy dog. no, not again. i tried that and i ended up with a black eye, so no." he nodded, "okay, i understand." i nodded, "okay." he looked over at me, "so, hows justin?" i looked up, "you dont care." he nodded, "yeah but its the polite thing to do."
the rest of the day dragged on. i went to my house after school. my phone rang as i unlocked the door. "hay," justin sang as i answered. "okay i really dont like the idea of dating a gay guy so." he laughed, "you wanna come over to my house?" "ya sounds great. be over in a second." i hung up and locked the door again. i walked over to justins and knocked on the door. "okay, you took way longer than a second." justin said happily as he opened the door. "sorry," i laughed, walking inside. "fine with me." he grabbed my waist, "that just means that i get my kiss for free." i laughed, "that wasnt part of any deal i ever heard of." he grinned, "ya but ill take that kiss anyway." he leaned down brushing his lips against mine.
"so would you mind visiting the death tree?" i laughed, "absolutely not." he grinned, "great." we left. it only takes a few minutes to get to the woods, but it takes a while longer to get to that tree. "can you spare the walk?" i nodded, "absolutely." funny that a few minutes after that i fell on the ground. "rose are you ok?" justin came over and helped me up. "yeah, fine." he laughed, "and you say im gonna get killed someday." i laughed. we walked
