Chapter One

The night was quiet, nothing could and ever would disturb it. At least, that's what I thought. I reached over to turn the knob on the stereo. Apparently when you rent your car to your best friend, they don't know what "leave the radio on the station it's on" means. I flipped through the stations trying to find the one I liked best, keeping my eyes on the road.  It was around eleven p.m. and waking up early was not a good way to start my night.

I cursed under my breath as I finally found the station I suited best, but before I could get into it a bright light blinded me. I felt my eyes widen as I jerked hard on the steering wheel, but it was too late.

It was cold. I tried to sit up but all I could do was moan in pain as I was force onto my back. In the distance, people were talking and the sounds of alarms rang loud in my ears. I could hear someone repeatitly asking, "Is she okay? Did I hurt her?!" That's when it hit me..I'd been in a accident.

My vision was blurry, but I could make out the shattered window as I stuck my hand out of it to wave I was okay. The glass that still stuck out grabbed at my arm as if it wasn't ready to let go..

My eyes flickered open to the cold dark room I was in that seemed to hide whatever it's walls had seen. I sat quickly up and suddenly felt light headed, cursing myself for the so being. Why was I so stupid? I managed to pull the white sheets back to uncover my left ankle, wrapped in a bandage. My toes stuck out through the top and I wiggled them, sighing in relief as they responded normally. The room had a small lamp placed on the nightstand next to the bed I was laid in for who knows how long. A glass of water, pain killers and a pudding cup with a spoon on top sat to the side of the lamp. Not just any pudding cup..chocolate pudding. My favorite.

I reached for the cup and hurriedly opened it, ignoring the spoon and dipping a finger into the chocolate sweetness before bring it to my lips and licking it off. I gave a moan of deliciousness and reached for the spoon, stuffing my mouth with chocolate sweetness. I was interrupted with the clicking sound of the door, which caused me to look up to see who exactly interrupted the sweet moment.

"I see you're enjoying the pudding cup I left you." It was a male, though tough to try and regognize his voice, I nodded.

"My favorite." I moaned, stuffing another spoonful of it into my mouth, unaware of the chocolate mess I had made.

"Good, I wasn't for sure which one would be best for a beautiful girl like you." I could just hear the smile and sarcasm in his voice.

It grew quiet for a while as I finished the cup of pudding, reaching for a napkin. The strange man shifted awkwardly, clearing his throat a few times to speak up, but said nothing. I wiped my mouth and hands, and any where else that had the chocolate sweetness, saddened by having to waste just the little bit. I sat there in silence, fiddling with my fingers and wishing the man would either go away or help me up. A hot shower sounded good.

"Who are you..anyway?" I questioned him, my voice cracking which broke down my wall I had put up to protect me from this stranger. Who brought me delicious pudding. I looked up but the man was gone.

What the hell just happened... I shrugged it off. It was nothing, and right now, all I wanted was a warm shower. Somehow, I managed to pull myself up, holding onto anything I could as I made my way to the bathroom, stepping and limping over things as I made my way. It wasn't a huge bathroom, maybe just enough for two people at once. The sink and toilet sat to the side in the corner and the shower/tub took up the whole south wall. The shower looked big enough for two people as well.

I stripped out of my clothes and pulled a fluffy towel off the rack apove the toilet that also held hand rags and tissues. I clicked my tongue in a pout as I noticed my apperance in the mirror. My left eye was bruised and a cut ran across my lip. I slipped the shower curtian around and turned the shower on, letting it warm up before stepping inside.

The water felt good down my back. And for once, I felt calm. I was still shaken from thinking to the accident. Who hit me..? Didn't I hear someone calling to me? I tried to ignore what ran through my mind while the water hit my back.
