_Chapter One_

I started to grab my ipod touch off of the kitchen counter, when I hear my phone ring. I take a quick glance at it, when I realized I was getting a text instead of a call. How stupid, I thought in the back of my head. I touched the screen, softly, to open the message, not wanting to get fingerprints all over the screen. It was my best friend, Kendall, saying that peole are meeting up at the boardwalk to hang out, and wanted to know if I could go. It was an hour and a half at the most drive, but I didn’t mind long drives when it was just me. I thought about it for a moment, wondering if I really and truly wanted to go.
“What’s up kiddo?” my dad asked as he came into the kitchen, probably about to get some dinner for himself.
It’s just my dad and me. My mom died a few years ago in a car crash, and ever since then, my dad and I haven’t sat down at an actual table, with a real dinner in front of us, while coming up with an actual conversation. Really ever since my mom died it’s been really quiet around here. I miss her cooking, she cooked the greatest food ever, while my dad is horrible at it, so we usually order something or go out to a diner.
“Nothing much,” I replied.
He just nodded his head, and headed for the fridge to see I we had anything to heat up, and if not he’d be ordering food. Since I didn’t know if I wanted to go or not, I figured I’d just ask my dad and whatever he said, I would do.
“Um, Dad?” I ask unsure of what his answer will be.
“Yea?”
“Just wondering, Kendall said a bunch of people are going to be hanging out at the boardwalk, and she was wondering if I can go so what do you think? Should I?”
“Yea, it’ll be good for you to get out of the house, after your mom died it seems like you died with her, but first before you go you have to eat something,” He replied.
“Already ate dad.”
“Really?! It’s only four thirty.”
“Yea, and if I get hungry I’ll but something.”
“Alright,” he said not even bothering to look at me during the whole conversation.
“I’m gonna get ready,” I say.
I slide my phone open so the full keyboard will come out, and text Kendall saying that I can come. Then, I go upstairs, over to my closed, and grab my black leather strapless dress that is tight fitted, and ends a goot away from the top of my knee, breeze back angel spike heels, my black handbag, and a necklace that has three hearts. The first one has, In Loving Memory, the second one has my mom’s full name, and the last with her birth and death date on it, my dad gave it to me a week after my mom died. I looked in the mirror at my long dark brown wavy hair that stops just beneath my rip cage. I brushed it until it was at its original state. Then, crimped it. I have emerald green eyes. I made a smoky eye, using green eye shadow. Then I got changed. I grab my handbag, put my phone and money in it, and went downstairs to give my dad a kiss on the cheek.
While grabbing the keys to my black camaro, get in my car, and start driving towards the boardwalk, I thought about what would happen there. Of course, there will be alcohol, and drugs, but I don’t do either. The thing that I’m most worried about is my ex-boyfriend Darren being there.
My thoughts got away from me, and before I realized, I was at the boardwalk. I quickly found a parking spot and called Kendall.
“Hello?” she answered by the second ring.
“Hey what pier are you on?” I asked.
“The usual,” she said meaning the third pier.
“Alright see you there,” I said then hung up. While preparing myself for what I should expect I opened the door, and walked out, looking around so I’ll remember where I parked. Then, I decided I have everything engraved in stone in my mine. I started walking to the third pier. There were a lot of people on it, with their family members. While making my way toward the pier, I smelled popcorn, pizza, ice cream, cotton candy, and caramel apples. After wondering around for a few minutes trying to find my way. I finally reached the pier, wondering where in hell Kendall could be in this mess, but no doubt she was probably with our other friend Kylie. Finally I decided I should look before giving up the whole thing and just going home. In the next second, I felt someone grab my arm, and I gasped while turning around. It was Kendall of course, with Kylie close behind her, Kylie's pale complexion making her practically glow in the dark
“It’s just us relax,” she said while adrenaline rushed through my veins. I give them both a glare as I breathe in relief.
“Sorry.” The said at the same time, and laughed when they realized it.
“It’s fine.”
“Ready? Everybody’s waiting at the beach, near the water, because we’re gonna have a bonfire instead, Darren, Nick, and Matt already got the wood set up, and are waiting for a bigger crowd.
“Yea, I’m ready,” wishing I knew so I could have wore different shoes.
“Let’s go!” Kylie said excitedly.
I didn’t notice that Kylie’s straight dyed light blue hair was down until now. She also has a small circle lip ring, and has her first, second, third, and two car ear piercings in each of her ears, which is the first thing you notice when you see her, if you don’t notice her hair.
Kendall, on the other hand has natural blonde beach wave hair. She’s slightly tan. She always has a natural looking smoky eye shadow. Kendall is a beach girl, and always has been. We all grew up together, and ever since we met we’ve been best friends.
We got to the end of the beach, and Darren eyed me. Then looked me up and down like I was something to eat. He eyed me again, his eyes were glassy and gray he looked horrible, like he hadn’t slept for days. I just stared back, until he looked away with his head down, embarrassed. Very carefully, I brought my leg up behind me so I could take my heels off without falling. I grabbed my phone out of my handbag and checked the time, it’s around five, so everybody should be here all together in a while. I saw groups of people coming toward us in different directions, unsure if I knew them or not, I just walked over to the radio that somebody, probably Matt, put on earlier, and turned it up. Then I saw Kendall and Kylie sitting in the sand near the bonfire talking, I decided I could go over and talk to them.
As I walk over I bump into somebody, and got soaking wet. Whoever it was caught me to break my fall. I looked up, about to apologize, but the words couldn’t escape my mouth. He looked into my eyes softly. I gasped, in catching my breath. I just stared at him and marveled. His black hair is so long it goes into his eyes a little bit, and is tangled in his long lashes. I looked down his face examining it, he has blue eyes, and flawless lips. I took a breath of air realizing I need oxygen. The smell of him is intoxicating. I suddenly got dizzy, and was happy about it. No doubt I was probably going to pass out; it just about clouded my mind. He’s pale white. I notice the open water bottle in his hand. So that’s why I’m wet, I thought stupidly, but it took a lot of effort to think clearly.
“S…s…sorry,” stuttering like an idiot, that’s all I could manage to get out while my mind was going a mile a minute. He just stared at me. I looked at him hopeful, hoping that would push the “it’s okay” out of him. We stayed there for a couple of minutes, before he let go of me.
“Don’t bother, are you alright?” he asks, his voice warm, caring , but on edge also, sounding beautiful.
“Yes,” then he just nods, and walks away, my gaze following him, as he walks away toward the bright, crescent moon.
_Chapter Two_

It was weird how he left like that. After he walked away from me, he went right up the beach, and onto the boardwalk, I don’t know if he left or not, which I don’t know why but I had this uneasy feeling in my stomach when I realized he might have left. Wondering if I was late at waking up, I looked at my alarm clock to see what time it is. Sure enough I’m late. I quickly got out of my bed, and went into my bathroom to splash water on my face to wake up. I put on a cami, t-shirt over the cami that I made when I went to jungle ball, while saving the one I bought for another day, I put on jeans, and my fake uggs. I looked into my mirror and brushed my hair, and put on dark blue liquid eyeliner, and mascara. After I got ready, I grabbed the tote bag I use for school and left.
By the time I got to school I just made it to my first period Biology class, right when the bell rang. I sat down at my lab table and pt my bag down I in the seat next to me, since nobody sat there, and every lab project I did by myself, using the whole lab table, which I was grateful for. Right when Mr. Mitchell was going to start his lesson, the door opened once more. There he was right in front of my face. His dark black hair, blue eyes, long lashes, flawless lips, and pale skin. When he passes my lap table, I smell his scent, and it clouded my mind again, but not as much as the first time. He was wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, and black jeans. He went to Mr. Mitchell’s desk and gave him a note, probably to excuse his tardiness. Although he never went here before. So why is he here? I ask myself. Mr. Mitchell pointed his finger to the seat next to me, indicating that he should sit in the only seat left empty I in the room. Once I moved my books, as if on cure, he turned around to look at where he was instructed to sit. He met his eyes with mine, and my stomach swirled with butterflies. Nervousness has always been a weakness of mine. I can’t stand the feeling of it. He walked toward me gracefully, and sat down in the seat next to me.
