Its been about two weeks since Shane and I kissed, for some reason he's been avoiding me. During our classes he chooses Ryan as his partner, on the upside, he doesn't talk to Evet either. Kaylin says that he's nervous about us being together because we were friends for such a long time. She says that if it doesn't work out that things may not go back to the way they were before. I mean I get what she is saying, but can't we just give it a try before jumping to conclusions? I don't think I can stand for the cold shoulder anymore, so I'm gonna make the first move....tomorrow. Right now I have chores to do.

"Nattie, the phone! " my mom called.
I jumped off my bean bag and ran downstairs. " Coming!" I said.
My mom was standing in the kitchen with a bright red envelope in her hands. " This is for you," she handed it to me.

It was from Shane. It read : I'll pick you up at seven. Wow this is his way of asking me out. It's so like Shay he's never been romantic. Which was fine with me,until it actually involved me. I've always dreamed of prince Charming riding up to my townhouse on his horse and throwing rocks at my bedroom window in an attempt to whisk me off into the sunset. Well, whether or not I like the way he asked me out, I had a date to get ready for. After hours of preparation a look in the mirror revealed how absolutely ah-mazing I looked. The "little black dress" I wore showed off my curves. My jet black hair was glossy and cut in a bob. My ruby red lipstick made my hazel eyes pop out even more.

I tilted my head just as the door bell rung. I tried to contain my excitement, but it was a total fail. "Nattie," came my moms annoying voice. "Coming," I yelled. I tried to come down the stairs nonchalantly, until I saw Shane standing there in his prep school sweater vest and khaki pants. I was totally overdressed for this date and I knew it but he didn't seem to mind because his eyes were popping out of their sockets. Shane said playfully "Wow, you're a girl! Who would've thought?" I sneered thinking of a comeback that wasn't anywhere near as good as his insult.

We walked out the door hand and hand. To a resturant called Belle, it was new to town. As soon as we walked in I found out why.

Chapter 2: You've got to be Kidding...

Evet was standing, there with one hand on her hip that was jetting out a bit. Her lips purking in an attitude. Her eyes on her bright pink nails.
" I'm gonna be your server. Follow me."

We followed behind her, I unwillingly. Did Shane know that thing was gonna be here. We sat down on the light green sofa. I guess this is supposed to be casual Shane said while I stared at him. Evet looked down at us and gasped, her strange smile widening slowly.

" Shane,OMG!I haven't seen you in forever." She started giggling and twirling her hair. I gritted my teeth, Shane kept his eyes on her. What a first date! I sighed huge so he'd stop smiling at her. He looked at me in confussion.

"So you guys can read your menu and I'll be back when you're ready to order."
She pranced away from our table flipping her hair back. I picked up the menu and stared up.
"OMG! Shane, I haven't seen you in forever."
I said trying to imitate Evet in a sing songy voice. "She doesn't sound like that," he said picking up the menu. "You would know," I muttered under my breath.

The rest of the night went smoothly until it came to dessert. Of course,Evet wanted to flaunt everything the restaurant had to offer(including herself).

" There was this time I lived in Madrid, it was amazing." Evet had her arm placed around Shanes neck. The other customers we're leaving beacause the only waiter was flirting instead of doing her job.

"There was this time I went to France and-" I cut her off. Finishing it with," let me guess it was to die for."

Shay kicked me under the table and gave me the glare that I always gave to him.I'm sorry am I messing up your date? I wanted to yell at him, better yet. I wanted to beat that girls brain out.I can picture it now.

"Wow sound like you've lived a full life.I need the check please." He shook his hair and she giggled. I couldn't even enjoy his cute little moves, that usually drove me crazy. Evet hopped a little and said it's on the house winking at Shane.

This date was alot of things but not perfect. Usually I said it doesn't matter. I tried to brush it off he was just being friendly Kaylin would say.

Shane grabbed his Jacket and we walked out of that resturaunt. He walked over to myside to open my car door, and I opened it wide. It almost hit him and I smiled. He closed the door while I was.

"What's with you seemed very quiet and that's not like you." He said his eyes on me.
" Put your seatbelt on," I said avoiding his eyes.

Was he serious? Evet ran the whole conversation, excluding me. Shane didn't even try to include me. I felt his eyes on me and I told him I had to be home soon. It was an excuse and a good one. After all it is sunday and we have to be at school bright and early tommorow.

He sighed and the ingene roared.
We pulled into his driveway in no time it seemed. just about jumped out the car and closed the door, it shut with an audible slam.I stalked to my room, Shane was confussed and I knew it.I shouldn't have to point it out.

Chapter: 3

I watched Natalie storm into her house, slamming the door. She's mad at me but why? I walked into my house and headed straight towards my room. I layed on my bed and wondered if I should call her. Would she even pick up. Everytime I tried to talk to her, it was short answers.

I have noticed that she was shocked when I took her to that great resturaunt. She seemed overjoyed, I'd say. Now nattie is mad and over nothing. If I'm right she'll be over this in a hurry. All I have to do is give her my special bear hug.

I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. This will all blow over. I closed my eyes and slept.

***********

"Mornin' Sweat Pea," My mom said bursting through my door. I sighed and pulled the sheets over my head. Mom pulled the sheets off my bed and opened my curtains.

"Ma I'm up," With that she left my room. I made up my bed and got dressed. Throwing on whatever my hands touched.
I rushed down the stairs, out the door and ran to Nattie's place. Mrs. Conrad opened the door and said Nattie left. I was confused, disappointed and angry. How could she leave without me? All those times I would wait up for her and she just left?!

I walked to school in a hurry trying to catch up to Nattie. I found her dragging her bookbag on the ground with a few grunts here and there. As I fell into step with her she sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Hey," I said grabbing her arm. She shook loose of my grip and began walking more quickly. "So you're giving me the cold shoulder now? I'm sure Evet wouldn't do that."
"You did not just go there! First, you totally and completely forget that WE are on the date TOGETHER, then you say that...wow!" I tried to catch up to her but she ran faster than I had ever seen even with the bookbag she was carrying. "Wait up!" I yelled but she neither stopped nor looked back.

The rest of the day went just as the morning had. Nattie giving me the cold shoulder. As I walked home I thought back to the date and how she hadn't said more than two words all night. The problem was.....EVET!

Chapter 4:

"Nattie!" my mom called from the bottom of the stairs. I jogged down an found yet another red envelope in her hands. Wow, I thought to myself Shane needs to stop doing this to me. As I ripped it open it read:
"Come to the backyard." Again with these demands. I walked outside surprised at what I saw.

Shane was sitting underneath our big oak tree. There was a table set up with two glasses and two boxes that were wrapped like presents.

I walked over and sat down.Shay started apologizing and of course I didn't let go of a grudge that easily so he was gonna have to do something much better than this.

"Evet wasn't the problem, how much you hung on to her every word was. I was totally Ignored and you know that I don't like her.."
I didn't stay in chat with shane.I ran inside the house slamming the door and shutting the Curtains. My mom stood there witha blank look on her face.

" Are you going to forgive him?" My mom said in a monote tone. I just brushed past her gently and headed towards my room.
