Chapter One

Kate screamed. She had just woken up from her usual nightmare. Only 5:09

she thought. She groaned and stood up and her body instantly went back to bed. She didn't want to go back to sleep now right after that nightmare, but she was so tired. Kate sighed. What would mom have done if she was me?

she turned towards the picture frame sitting on her bedside table. She stood up again and went to dress

Her table is not the only thing big. Everything is big. Ever since the accident, she had moved to her aunt's place to stay. Sure enough it was a gigantice house right near the ocean. Kate loved her aunt and her aunt loved her but Kate sometimes disliked her for being nosy in her life. Kate likes to be alone. She hardly talks to anyone. Kids thinks of her as a freak. Her aunt thinks she can change her. Kate know she can never change her.

She went to he bathroom and got a towel. She ran downstairs and out the door. The beach was quiet as usual. All she can hear is the sound of the ocean. She slowly walk across the floor of sand leaving footprints behind. She layed her towel on the floor and sat on it. That's all she want, peace. The beach is her favorite place. She layed down and closed her eyes.

When she opened them, she saw a young man about her age but yet unfamiliar staring at her. He had bright green eyes with brown hair that falls in his tan face. He was a really handsome guy. Kate screamed. "Shhhhh, no, no. I'm not going to hurt you," he said. Instantly Kate shut up. She notice that he have such a nice body. She sat up. "Never knew anyone would wake up that early," he said. Without saying anything, Kate stood up, took her towel, and left.

"Wait," the young man said and caught up to her. "What do you want," Kate growled. "I just want to get to know you. Oh by the way, my name is Lucas," Lucas said. Kate sighed, "There's nothing you need to know about me". And with that, Kate ran home.

Chapter 2

Kate was pissed. That Lucas guy had just disturbed her peace. What's wrong with hime, Kate thought in her head. Doesn't he know that I am a loner in school and everywhere, she thought. Kate look at the clock and it said 6:05. She still have many free time. She stare out the window and notice that Lucas is gone. Kate thought, no, what if he comes back?

Kate went down to her basement. The beasment is like a fun house. She walk in a room and turn on the light. This room is the art room. There was a large peice blank empty paper in the center. She picked up a paintbrush and carelessly dipped it in the red paintcan. She splat the paint from the paintbrush on to the paper. Next she got a bigger one. This one was pretty heavy. She dipped it in the blue one. She use two hands and picked it up. She splat it and left a large big circle in the middle. She continued doing this.

"Kate!?!??!" Kate's aunt screamed. "Coming," Kate screamed back. She ran up and saw her aunt drinking coffee. She hurry up to the bathroom and brush her teeth again. She sat down on a chair and ate her cereal quietly, while her aunt sip on her coffee and read the newspaper. After she finished she stood up and started to leave but her aunt stopped her. She gave her $10. She turn to the door and left.

The house isn't far from the school. During her break she usually go to the beach. There's always things that troubled her. Either from her memory or things that happens in svhool. Today is the Lucas guy. I won't run into him today, she thought.
