nerve so I let it all sink in and smile.
“Can I go for a walk?” They all turned to me and suddenly don’t feel like the same person I was when I first stepped into this kingdom, the one who was a rebel and dress like a troll just to not marry the prince. Now I feel like the shy girl who was innocent, the same person I was when I was 6. Everything changed when I turned 7. My sister probably hates me because of that. I took a deep breath and smiled as the queen nodded. I swiftly turn on my heels and ran out of the door in my vampire speed. So much for walk, I thought to myself. I ran into my kingdom all the way to my bedroom and sat on the bed, letting out a gasp for air. There is no way I’m going back there. My nanny, Victoria, walked in and sat next to me. She is basically my mother, well the senses wise. She knows when something’s up, on the other hand my real mother doesn’t even look at me. Victoria looks at me with worried eyes since I didn’t greet her on her way in. She sat there next to me trying to grab my attention, I was in a trance thinking about Dominic. She began to panic even more so I snap out of it and look at her.
“Oh god, finally. So I guess he didn’t pick you,” Victoria assumed and calmed down. Should I tell her? No, I won’t then she won’t make me leave.
“Nope,” I played along, and then my eyes adverted to anywhere.
“Oh god, this isn’t you. What happen? You are back to your very shy shell.” She always starts off with oh god, when she is talking to me. I threw my head into my pillow, I’m so tired.
“Good night Victoria,” I sleepily murmured to her. She was shocked by this, I never go to bed without being shouted at.
“Good night Kai?” I heard her footsteps out of my room and I dig myself deeper into the comforter. I went to sleep with ease not caring that I should be at the other kingdom.
chapter two

I woke up to Victoria pacing back and forth in front of my bed. I close my eyes and opened them again. Finally I sat up and starred at the very panicky Victoria. She stopped walking and glanced at me, she looked totally phased.
“Good morning to you to Victoria,” I whispered and looked at the edge of my bed there was an outfit for me. A long maroon velvet dress and a black cloak, I only wear the cloak when I go to the village.
“You didn’t tell me that he picked you. You left the kingdom and came here?? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU,” she yells and I flinch. I look down ashamed, and she notices it.
“You, you’re afraid of actually loving him?” She reads right through me like I’m an opened book. I got out of the bed and took the dress and cloak, and went to her room since someone is in mine. In the bathroom I slip on the dress forgetting the corset then taking it off yelling for Victoria’s assistance. She came in the bathroom with a disapproving look. I put on the corset waiting for her to tighten it, which hurt a lot.
“You really need to get fatter, you are basically swimming in that corset with out it being laced to tightly.” I was pretty small, but I don’t need to gain weight I can kill anyone at anytime even if they weighed 40 times as much as me, I thought confidently masking my thoughts even though there is no one around except Victoria. I stifle a giggle, and held onto the counter so it would loosen the pain being directed at my back.
“Why so tight,” I asked in a soft weak voice. What is up with me lately? She finally finished with the damn corset and I slid on the gown. Then she handed me the cloak and I put it on flipping the hood up over my head.I let her do my makeup, she put black eyeliner and very red lips, like blood.
“So Kai, you need to go to the village and get some new jewelry and a gown for the dance/ ball, whatever you want to call it,” Victoria told me pushing me out the bathroom. I tried to smile but couldn’t, why am I feeling so miserable. Victoria noticed it and just smiled pushing me some more.
I walk into town hiding in my cloak so no one notices me also, it helps keep their voices out of my head. Their thoughts wonder in my mind so loud it is making my head pound. I kept walking till I found the jewelry place, the store keeper welcomed me in confused that she didn’t recognize me. Lowering my hood her face lit up and she led me to the counter.
“I didn’t know it was you Princess Kai, oh how I miss you.” Melissa, the store keeper has known me since I was very young. I used to come in here every day and tell her about my wonderful day, even after the incident of when I was 7 she didn’t fear me.
“I missed you to Melissa,” I whispered back starring at all the jewelry, it has changed so much since I was last here. Number one, because I have to look down to see everything, and number two there is no one in here.
“Hello mister, how may I help you,” I heard Melissa greet. I was about to ask her something when I noticed she was talking to Dominic.
“Op, well Melissa, it was very great seeing you again, um, but I have to go, er ya,” I said with my voice cracking, I walked and tripped over Dominic foot while I turned around. Dominic grabbed my arm and stopped me from leaving. Melissa looked confused, very confused. I looked back at her with eyes that said I’m fine. But I’m not, he doesn’t even have to tell me not to go, his touch made me stop.
“I hate you,” I mumble and leaned against him.
“Seems like you do,” he mumbled back then let me go. I take this as you can escape and step two steps forward to take a lot back as I heard him ask Melissa proudly, “Melissa can I see your wedding rings.”
I nearly choked on air, and turned to face him.
“Melissa, he is just kidding, well cheerio,” I said with a British accent that you can only hear when I am lying horribly. She caught on to the lie and showed him a very wide selection of rings. I groan and walk over to them.
“You know Kai, I can tell when you lie, because of your true British accent. I don’t know why you even hide it,” Melissa says showing Dominic a very large diamond ring that looked very heavy. I shook my head at it and sigh. Then she continued, “so you are Prince Dominic. You better take care of my Kai, she has gone through enough trouble.” I looked away and bit my lip. I don’t get why I don’t have that miserable feeling anymore, then I glance at Dominic. Nope, nope, nope, I played over and over in my head. He can’t be my other half, I absolutely won’t live. He grabbed my hand softly and sparks arrive. Oh god, it is true.
“AH HA, look Dominic,” I heard Melissa voice raise like she found gold so I couldn’t help but also look. She held the most alluring ring in the world.
“It looks to simple and boring.” Dominic looked at it trying to find what is so great about it. I fought myself from slapping him, I stole another look at it and fell in love with the Victorian styled ring. I bit my lip again from yelling at him so being so idiotic.
“To be honest it looks like Kai begs to differ,” Melissa said keeping herself from laughing mildly. Dominic looked over at me while I was at trance looking at the exquisite ring.
“Yes you idiot, I love the ring,” I said the begging in my hushed voice was obviously there, because Melissa brusted into laughter. He nodded to Melissa, and then I realized I gave him an advantage over me, now I have to say yes, because of that very, very astonishing ring. He bought it then turned to me and got on his knees. I rolled my eyes and Melissa was holding her hands waiting for him to ask.
“Will you Karina ….umm what’s your last name,” he asked completely ruining the mood for Melissa.
“Valentina,” Melissa exclaimed, and then went back to her lovey dovey stage.
“Karina Valentina, will you marry me?” Dominic’s face was priceless, I had to keep myself from laughing.
“Well I don’t have a choice and that ring is gorgeous, so indeed I will,” I stated and hugged him. I heard an aw slip from Melissa in the background. I honestly don’t care about the ring, I just can’t tell him I actually love him. Well I was hugging him I noticed his lips and how soft they look, I wonder if they are. I placed mine on his and kissed him. At first he was to dumbfound then he kissed back, he liked his lips on mine as much as I did his. I smiled into the kiss and pulled back, leaving him in a trance.
“I don’t get you Kai, at first you tell the boy you hate him, and then you say you will marry him only because you have to, then you passionately kiss him.” She made a weird breathing noise and I arched my eye brow. I did do that didn’t I, I thought to myself amused.
“Well, you can’t tell the guy you love him or if you do he will build an ego.”I turned around and was about to leave, when Dominic stops me again. He made me face him and slipped on my ring, I bit my lip from smiling brightly.
“I love you Karina,” Dominic said and crushed his lips against mine.
“Call me Kai, and I love you to Dominic,” I said in between kisses. I finally pulled again and laughed as his face became sad, because we stopped kissing.
“Where are you going?”
“To get a gown for that stupid ball I have to go to with you,” I retorted in disgust, I hate balls/ dances/ whatever you want to call them.
“Oh okay, bye my love.” Obviously he wants nothing to do with dresses, I smirk. I grab the handle that leads me out of the store finally without being stopped. I walk out of the
