Screaming Cave

Chapter 1: The Screaming Cave

James peered out into the foggy mist of the desolate village from the cliff that overlooked the small town of Terech. In the distance he spotted his school in which he stumbled five miles every weekday morning. He could here his mother singing softly in the kitchen of there broken, battered, two-room cottage. James had had enough of sitting indoors all day. So, he stumbled quietly into the kitchen and asked his mum if he could go out and explore. His mum sighed and agreed on the terms that he should return before nine o'clock and to wear his hat. Walking merrily to the door, James put on his beanie and headed out for Tulip Square. He walked and walked for many miles, until at last he looked up. But, to his shock, the towering statue of Lord Vanadan was nowhere to be seen. It was obvious that he had took a wrong turn so he tried to find someone to help him. Running like a cheetah, James dashed along the winding paths of his small, dead village. Suddenly he approached a large cave in front ofhim.
Curiously, James entered the small, cramped hole and peered ahead of him. A scream suddenly arose behind him and a cold wind blew through his hair. James spun around but he saw nothing. Then a million laughs of pure evil sprang from the Earth and eroded James ears. The time was 8:59 pm and James was still trying to escape the cave. Then everything stood still. And as the clock ticked 9:01 James was nowhere to be found. For he had been the last victim of the Screaming Cave!
