"Go TO SLEEP!", my bossy sister yelled.
"Well sorry for being the only one excited about tomorrow!", I responded.
"Zephyr, you're the only one that has a reason
to be anywhere near excited! It may be your birthday, but all I'm doing is going on a stupid hike with you and Grove.", Ash responded angrily.
Afraid to make her more upset, I fell asleep (or tried).
Zephyr woke up to the sound of Ash and Grove whispering in the cabin's kitchen.
"So Ash, what did you get Zephyr?", he asked my older sister quietly.
I made the mistake of opening the door to see better..."CREAK",the voices stopped.
"Shh, I think I heard her waking up!", Ash said
Quickly, I jumped back into my bed and pretended to be asleep.
Grove poked his head through the door and saw me "sleeping"."See, she couldn't have been listening, she's sound asleep!", he assured Ash.
I pretended to wake up as my brother and sister slipped out the door.
I walked in the kitchen of the cabin we were renting and I let all the smells of bacon, eggs, and waffles swim into my nose and tingle my senses, making my mouth water.
"So.. does anyone have anything to say to me?" I asked sarcastically.
"Yah," my brother said, "Empty the trash will ya?"We all burst out laughing.
My Mom and Dad walked out of their room still in their pajamas. Each stumbled by, still in a trance from just waking up and kissed me on the forehead."Happy Birthday!", they all yelled.
Still smiliing, I ate my bacon.
"So who's coming hiking with me today?", I aksed
It was Grove who spoke up,"Just you, Ash, and me."
"I am fine with that!", I said.
As we set off down the trail, Grove started singing the Camp fire song song
by SpongeBob.
"C.A.M.P.F.I.R.E SONG, AND IF YOU DON'T THINK THAT I COULD SING IT FASTER THAN YOU WRONG, BUT IT'LL HELP IF YOU JUST SING ALOOOOON- OW!!",He finished his song when Ash threw a stick at his head.
Soon we came across a very steep and muddy hill that looked fun to slide down. I mentioned the idea to Ash and Grove.
"That sounds like a great idea, since I'm oldest, I'll go first and check it out.", We all agreed.
Just as Grove reached the top, I noticed a small cliff about 10 feet high. I called out to Grove, but as he turned around to see what I was talking about, he slipped and fell right off the cliff!
I screamed. Ash yelled out his name. We ran to the bottom of the cliff where Grove sat clutching his leg.
"Grove!", I said "Are you alright?"
"I'm not going to die, but I think I broke my leg. I won't be able to get baa... What is that?", he pointed to a clearing behind us.
There stood a beutiful white stallion that appeared to be glowing (if you can imagine that).
He walked toward us not even caring that we were humans or if he was wild. He wasn't scared at all, really. If anyone was scared, it was us!
The stallion trotted gracefully towards Grove and nuzzled him lovingly on the cheek.
We stared at it in awe. It threw its head back and forth as if motioning for Grove to get on its back.
"Do you think he wants to help us?", I asked.
"A blessing from God!"Ash gasped."Quick, help Grove up.", she said
"Help Grove up?! Are you crazy? This thing is wild!", he yelled.
"How come you're scared now? You didn't even hesitate before going up that hill!", I testified.
"Well I didn't know there was a cliff!", he replied defensively.
"Just get on!", Ash and I yelled.
Finally, but reluctantly, Grove got on the horse, who was still patiently waiting.
When we finally got back to the cabin, Mom and Dad were anxiously waiting for us.
"Grove!", my parents yelled when they saw us. "what happened?"
My muscular Dad picked up Grove off the horse and carried him inside with a stunned look on his face. We told my Mom what happened.
When we motioned back to the stallion, he was gone.
My Mother gasped,"It truely was a gift from God, sent to help you!"
