First story of Audrey and Lily (Friends Forever Series)

Audrey felt ignored, her life sucked just because she was nothing like the rest of the girls
in her school, she did not like drinking or smoking, she loved to read and wanted to one day
be a fashion designer. Her mother had named her after Audrey Hepburn her idol so Audrey also
liked the legendary movie actress, she had posters of some of her movies in her bedroom and wanted to be as elegant as her so she always tried to dress in the same style that make her
look incredibly pretty and sophisticated for today's times. Audrey has just finished her
lunch and sat down in one of the benches in the school grounds, the huge park sorrounding the
school was a nice area for those who wanted to read and be in solitude for it was prohibited
to be kissing and making out so for that students went to the fields behind the school and so
many girls were just having intimacy with guys that Audrey felt sad, she was different and she
knew it, maybe to romantic for her own good, all she wanted was to be with the guy she really
loved but she dreamed that it would be really special not just for fun or to do it because all
girls were doing it. She was seventeen and graduating that year of high school, she knew she
was going to a fashion school that only talented artists were accepted so she was very happy
for that but she felt alone, a real outsider with no friends other than her mother Rose and her
sister Ava and her brother Jim, other than those four people she was just a girl who walked around with her bag on her shoulder and a hand full of books to read. That day was different
Audrey noticed a girl sitting in one of the benches reading just like her, she wanted to talk
to her but didn't know how to approach her so she pretended no to see her, the girl looked her
way and noticed her too, she smile and kept on reading but then the girl got up and walked her
way.
"Hello", Lily greeted her.
"Hi", she was surprised that someone actually had approached her, she had been three years in that school and she had always been alone.
"My name is Lily, I am in your Art class, I sit right behind you always"
"Yeah, I think I have seen you"
"I notice you are always alone just like me", Audrey smile at the young girl, she seemed so
different too.
"I don't really know how to make friends", she was honest.
"Me neither, I just moved here, I am a junior"
"I had lived here all of my life, I am a senior", Lily sat next to her and placed her books on her lap.
"You look like a dancer, are you?", Audrey smile again.
"Yeah, I love dancing, I took lessons for a long time, not anymore", Lily was curious about her
but also wanted to have a friend at the school.
"Why not, if I might ask?"
"Well, I turned my attention to designing for I want to be a fashion designer, I just got accepted to one of the best schools in New York City"
"Oh that is really cool" Lily was truly happy for her, she wished they could really be friends.
"I love designing, is a good career, I think"
"Yeah, I agree"
"So, do you live close to school?", Audrey got up ready to walk back to school for it was almost time to go to the next class.
"Not that close, I live by fifth and Lincoln"
"Oh I live close to there too", Audrey was sure that fate had brought them together, maybe she
could find someone to talk and share her emotions with for she had never had a real friend.
"I guess we are practically neighbors", the two girls smile at eachother.
"I guess so, I live with my mom, my sister Ava and my brother Jim, Ava is only eight years old,
Jim is in college, my father died a few years ago so is just the four of us", Lily put a hand on
Audrey's shoulder.
"Oh, I am sorry"
"Thanks"
"I got to run to my next class, history", Audrey looked at the clock on the wall, the bell was about to ring.
"I got Math now, would you like to get an ice cream after school?"
"Sure, there is a nice place close to where we live, I always get the school bus, how about you?"
"I do too, I had never been in the one Ms. Anderson rides"
"Well, you might want to try it, I think is more quiet than the other one where Mr. Phillips drives"
"So I see you after school in the parking lot?"
"Sure, nice meeting you Lily"
"Yeah, nice meeting you too Audrey"

The bell rand and both girls went to their classes, both outsiders, sometimes all you need is to be at the right place at the right time to find a new friend, that day at the school park Audrey and Lily began one friendship that would last them a life time...
