himself on the ground. He landed on one knee, avoiding the damage from the impact. Jason looked up to the sky, but Vayne was gone. He searched around for him, knowing that he would be coming back for more. Jason sensed the attack coming and dodged the fist. He lunged out at Vayne and slammed his fist into his gut. Vayne took the attack as an advantage. He grabbed Jason’s arm and spun him around like a top. He released Jason into the air and leapt up for another attack. He soared above Jason and sent a downward kick into Jason’s ribs.
Jason was strong and durable, but with attacks like these, he wouldn’t last too long. Jason hurdled to the ground and this time was unable to prevent collision. He crashed, breaking up some of the ground and creating a body print of himself. Dirt and dust flew into the air and Jason felt the ground shift. He could feel the damage in his ribs and his back. The hit was strong, but it would take a lot more than that to keep him down.
Jason arose to his feet, ready to get back in the fight. Vayne landed a good distance away from him. Jason charged at Vayne. When the two enemies were only a few yards apart, Jason dropped down and slammed his hands into the ground. Flames exploded up from the ground at Vayne. Caught off guard, Vayne tried to shroud himself with darkness. He caught a bit of the heat, but managed to avoid the majority of it. Not ready to give him a moment, Jason attacked again with a stronger downward punch. This time, Vayne was sent tearing towards the ground. He landed on his feet, but pushed into the soil.
Vayne raised his hands and created a large wave of darkness. The wave shot out at Jason, preventing him from dodging. He had only one option now. He had to burn his way out. Jason created the scorching hot sphere of power. Its heat no longer bothered Jason and he was able to grip it with his hands. He put up a slight coat of heat around his hands to prevent the attack from actually harming him. Luckily, the blue globe of blazing flames maintained stability and form. He lifted the ball above his head and threw it down at the darkness. As it reached up to swallow Jason, the orb flew into its center and created a large hole. Jason flew through it and let the darkness pass by him harmlessly. The blue orb continued down at Vayne, who now had to avoid that attack. He jumped to the side and the blazing attack exploded against the dirt.
Vayne, now growing irritated, gritted his teeth. He was done playing games with Jason. He flew up with his fists clenched. A layer of the smoky darkness surrounded his fists. This wasn’t going to feel good. Jason tried to release his flames, but the Vayne moved away from them. When he was close enough, Jason felt the strike hit his stomach. Vayne’s other fist grabbed Jason by the hair and pulled him down. Jason caught Vayne’s knee in the nose, leaving him a little dazed. Vayne tried one more punch, but Jason caught it in his hand. He pushed the fist down and smashed his head into Vayne’s. Jason kicked him away, creating breathing distance.
Vayne held his arm out to the side and released the darkness. It twisted itself into the form of a Quix Blade. His was much different than Sollamance’s. This blade was more like a katana then a longsword. It curved at the top and had a small hilt. In the center of the hilt was a blood red gem. It added to the Quixon image of the sword. The shiny blade had a small engraved line down the side of it. It was just as menacing as the rest. Jason, not wanting to use his Quixon power, was now without a weapon. He wasn’t liking where this fight was going.
Vayne hacked and slashed at him with his new blade. Jason dodged the swipes until one caught him on the knee. He grunted in pain, but continued to dodge the attacks. Finally, another slash caught his left shoulder deep. Jason cried out in pain and went to kick Vayne. He caught him in the side of the face, but did little damage to the Quixon. At this rate, Jason was going to get cut down to size in no time.
Jason went in for another attack, but caught an uppercut below the chin. His head whipped back and Vayne spun around for a roundhouse kick. The kick sent Jason down towards the ground in pain. He landed on both knees this time. The cut on his shoulder was bleeding badly and causing him a lot of pain. His head was still aching. Vayne landed a little ways away from Jason.
“My king will be pleased when I dispose of you.” spat Vayne.
“King?” Jason asked a little surprised.
“Did you think we were without a leader?” Vayne asked, “We follow our king and queen until the death. Forever we will live for them and never shall we fail them.”
“You’re kind disgusts me! All you do is hurt the innocent for your own personal pleasure!” Jason yelled.
“The Quixon’s are the superior race in the universe. We have killed off hundreds of species that begged to differ with us. Much like the Aspen.” Vayne grinned.
“I’m still alive, aren’t I?” Jason said like a smart ass.
“Not for long,” Vayne growled.
He swiped Jason’s feet out from beneath him and used the darkness as a whip. It wrapped both of his legs and snapped him back and forth. Jason slammed against he ground at two different spots, denting the ground more and more every collision. He could feel his face start to cut and bleed. His shoulder wound was only getting worse. Jason released his flames, freeing himself. He didn’t have much balance and toppled to the ground. He knelt down trying to catch his breath. He spat out some blood and looked at his hands. He was strong…but it just wasn’t enough.
Jason knew there was only one way of beating Vayne, but he didn’t want to do it. he had sworn to be done with the darkness for good. He needed to keep the darkness inside, but at the same time needed to use it against his enemy. Vayne could only be beaten with it. Jason looked over to Sarah, who was still unconscious. He had no choice. He needed to save her no matter what. He closed his eyes and felt the dark being scratching at his heart. In his mind, he could see his Quixon self grinning. There were no other options. He had to give in.
“You win,” Jason muttered to the darkness. It was time to let it out.
Tainted Power
Jason felt everything in his body changing. He felt his strength increase as the darkness inside surfaced. His eyes changed and his hair blackened. His body grew ice cold. His fist clenched as he heard the monster inside laugh maniacally. His legs were shaking and his joints began to pop. It was as though his entire being was changing. He looked to Vayne, who tried to hide his fear. The taunts had just been a way to mess with Jason’s head. He didn’t actually expect him to change. Vayne watched as his enemy grew strong very quickly. Jason’s wound on his shoulder felt numb. The darkness had been let loose.
He glanced over at Sarah, who still hung unconscious and unaware of what was happening. Jason’s anger was pulsing through his veins. It was all coming out now. Vayne’s lies and actions were too much. Jason would not forgive him for anything. This was going to end right here, right now. Even in this Vaetix, Jason knew that Vayne was not going to win. He may have been powerful, but Jason’s will to kill his enemy was much stronger. He turned his red, angry eyes to Vayne. It was time for blood.
Jason darted to Vayne, catching him off guard. He slammed his fist into his abdomen and caused him to cough out blood. With a quick kick, Vayne was sent hurdling across the ground. He caught his balance and readied his sword. Jason could have used the Quix Blade, but didn’t think it was necessary yet. Jason shifted to the right to avoid Vayne’s stab and drove an elbow into his enemies face. Vayne fell off balance, giving Jason a moment to attack. The darkness whipped out of Jason’s hand and wrapped around Vayne’s wrist. Jason yanked him close and smashed another punch into his face. Vayne shot backwards at an alarming rate and collided with the rocky wall that held Sarah. She was higher up and didn’t seem to be disturbed by the collision. It wouldn’t have mattered for too much longer anyways. Jason was going to win this fight.
Vayne had impacted the wall hard and left a good three inch imprint when he recovered from the attack. He was breathing heavy and starting to bleed. He didn’t like this one bit. Jason grinned as his enemy spit blood to the ground. Vayne twirled his blade in his hand and stared Jason down. Jason’s recent training had made the power feel even stronger. Every hit he made, every drop of blood that dripped from his enemy…it all made Jason feel good. The darkness had changed him last time, but he was in control this time. He could feel it shifting in his bloodstream. It was like something was under his skin, slithering. As creepy as it was, Jason was willing to deal with it.
“Looks like you couldn’t control yourself after all, huh?” Vayne laughed.
“This isn’t about wanting to use this power. It’s about needing to kill you!” Jason declared angrily.
“Isn’t it always about the killing?” Vayne grinned.
Jason lunged at the Quixon and sent a violent chain of punches and kicks. Vayne blocked most of them, but caught a few blows to the ribs and the legs. This time, he wasn’t going to be beaten around by Jason. He countered on of the attacks and gripped Jason’s neck tight. Gasping for air, Jason kicked Vayne’s hand away and flipped into the air. He gathered the dark power into a massive wave. It must have looked like a tidal wave of black smoke. Jason blasted the wave down at Vayne. In the nick of time, he slashed a large tear in the attack and let it fall around him. It looked almost like a curtain of smoke ripping and tearing around Vayne. The wave collapsed to the ground and threw soil and rock into the air. Jason lost sight of Vayne, but knew he’d be on the move.
He searched for a sound that would alert him to his foe’s position, but couldn’t manage to find him in time. He took a knee to the gut, causing him to bend forward in pain. Vayne lifted his sword high above his head and ripped in downward at Jason. Barely managing to escape a fatal blow, Jason evaded the sword but received a gash down the left side of his chest. The blood spilled out and soaked his clothing. The cut had been deep, but wasn’t enough to keep him down. He could still see his own blood on Vayne’s blade as he returned with his own attack. Jason surrounded his fist in darkness and swung at Vayne. With a few quick dodges, Vayne managed to stay on top. He spun around and kicked Jason backwards. Jason felt bruise on his face before the attack even hit. It was painful, but still not effective enough to knock him out.
