to stay calm not just for myself but for my son.

“I think not hijo de perra, you see I’m going to finally have what I’ve wanted for years. But not before I take you and this bastardo out of the equation. It should have been you that took that bullet back then then mi vida wouldn’t have left me,” Felipe rambles.

“Are you delusional fucker? Emery was and will always be my wife. She’s always belonged to me. Now get your slimy ass fuckin’ hands off my kid,” I snarl.

“What are you gonna do? I don’t think you’ll do anything, the same way you did nothing back then. You're nothing but a coward Scorch. Funny name for someone who burned ties with their family,” Felipe sneers.

“Prez don’t let him provoke you, look at the gun. The safety is still on,” Pyro murmurs from behind me. Eyeing the gun better I don’t say anything but rather make a decision. It’s not exactly how I wanted to do this but for my kid it will do. He’s more important.

“Stone, close your eyes and cover your ears bud,” I say, meeting my son's gaze. The last thing I want to do is scare him.

Slightly nodding, he does as I ask.

“What, you have no retort? You’re pathetic Scor–” he doesn’t get the chance to finish his sentence because I grab one of my own guns and pull the trigger. The bullet hits him square between the eyes.

“How’s that for a coward?” I sneer handing my gun over to Pyro and stalk toward my son who’d dropped to his knees and is now shaking. “I got you Buddy. You're safe. He can’t hurt you again Stone.” Helping him to his feet I hold him against me.

“I want to know how the fuck he got in the clubhouse,” Bane growls.

“Same here. Beast?” I demand. He was in charge of watching my kid.

“I don’t know how he got in here Prez, when Stone didn’t come out of your room right away. I went looking for him. Only to find this fucker here walking down the hall with his gun to Stone’s head. He told me to get you.”

“I know how he got in here,” Toxin speaks up holding Numbnuts by the neck.

“Explain.”

“Caught the shithead here, on the phone outside. Seems he’s nothing but a little nark.” Toxin releases the hold he had on the prospect, shoving him to the ground.

Toxin and Beast have been prospecting for almost a year now and both earned their names as well as our trust.

“This true,” I demand, guiding my son over to Bane who was standing next to Demi. I hadn’t even seen her come back in the main room.

“I’m not a nark Scorch. I swear man. I wasn’t doing anything wrong,” Numbnuts protests.

“Bullshit,” Toxin mutters and tosses me the prospects phone.

Glancing down my vision turns red as I read through the messages. This dumbass here thought he could get away with letting Felipe waltz right into my club.

“Scorch man I didn’t mean to, I swear, I . . . I . . . I needed the money for my pops.”

“I don’t give a fuck if you needed a lobotomy for your sister. You don’t fuck over your club. Pyro take him and lock his ass up in the freezer. We'll deal with his ass once we get Emery back.” Turning my attention to Demi, I take in how she embraces my son. “Did you locate her?”

“Yeah, her tracking chip is still moving,” she says nodding her head.

“How do you know they haven’t taken it off her?” Ram asks.

“Because it’s in the bottom of her foot. There's no way they would look there, let alone find it,” she shrugs. “It’s where all of ours are located.”

“That’s fuckin’ smart. Who thought of that?” Frost grumbles.

“My brother did when he lost his girlfriend,” Demi retorts with a sense of sadness.

“Much as it sucks that Liam had to lose his girlfriend, I’m glad we have a way of getting my ol’ lady back,” I grumble.

“Where’s it saying they’re heading?” Bane asks.

“Ironically, they’re headed to the Outer Banks,” she smirks.

“Fuck they’re gonna use one of the charter boats, I’m betting in Manteo or at Oregon Inlet,” Bullseye states.

“Isn’t there a hurricane supposed to be hitting land tonight or tomorrow? They wouldn’t be dumb enough to take a charter out in the ocean. The waves would be way too treacherous,” Demi says, furrowing her brow.

“She’s right Prez, Hurricane Dolly is supposed to make landfall tonight,” Frost mutters in agreement.

Motherfucker.

“Alright, fuck we’ve got to do this smart yet quick. I’m not about to be stuck between the ocean and the sound.” It’s definitely the last thing I want to do. Ghoul saved my ass a long time ago from doing something stupid and if it wasn’t for his crazy ass, I wouldn’t be here now to get my ol’ lady back.

“Demi, I need you to stay here and watch Stone as well as keep tracking Emery. Don’t argue with me on it,” I command when she opens her mouth to protest.

Narrowing her gaze on me she nods her head.

“Good. Brothers let’s get this shit over with. I’m tired of dealing with these assholes. Beast and Toxin, I want you two to stay here. Keep an eye on Stone and Demi. Do not let them out of your sight for anything, am I understood?”

“You got it Prez.” They both said at the same time, their faces a mask of stone.

Nodding I look at my brothers and motion for them to join me in the room we hold church. I have one phone call I need to make before I can leave.

I meant what I said about taking them all out.

Sitting in my chair at the head of the table, I pull my phone out and dial Capone’s number.

“This better be good Scorch, I’m in the middle of something,” he snaps as soon as he picks up. Giggles can be heard in the background.

“I can tell,” I chuckle. “Look wanted
