Chapter Eight
Wolf
Leaving my girls at home hadn’t been easy. After spending the night in Glory’s arms and making her come so much she finally begged for sleep, I’d wanted to stay home with them. It seemed the club had other ideas. A text with Church in ten had made me haul ass into the shower and to the clubhouse while Glory and Sienna were still asleep. The sky was just starting to lighten as I rode through the compound.
I didn’t know what the hell was going on, but I hoped it was over quickly. I didn’t think I’d ever get my fill of Glory. Knowing Sienna would have to take a nap at some point made me want to hurry home. I planned on wearing my woman out. We’d talked quite a bit between rounds of making love -- and yeah, I could admit it was more than just sex -- and decided to roll the dice. After the condom broke, and Glory had decided maybe it was predestined or something, she’d decided to forgo birth control.
If she ended up pregnant before she finished her degree, I’d do what I could to help. Whether it was watching Sienna, making sure Glory had time to study, or anything else she needed, I’d take care of it. I wasn’t getting any younger. Glory might have her entire life ahead of her, but I was quite a bit older than her. There were times I couldn’t believe I was with someone so young but considering how many of my brothers had claimed younger women, I should have prepared myself for the inevitable.
Quite a few bikes were already parked outside the clubhouse. Looked like I was the last one to arrive, which meant I’d probably get my ass chewed by the Pres. A few club whores hung out in the main area, trying to sink their claws into the Prospects. I hoped those boys were wise enough to not get one of them pregnant.
I stepped into Church and took my seat, ignoring the glare Badger cast my way. I checked the clock on the wall. I might be late, but only by two minutes.
“Now that we’re all here,” Badger said, narrowing his gaze at me again, “let’s get started.”
Slash leaned forward, bracing his arms on the table. “As everyone knows, the clinic was broken into night before last. They destroyed the place. We aren’t sure what they were looking for, or who is responsible.”
“Wolf had a strange woman walk in while he was there with Glory,” Steel said. “He followed her to the alley and overheard her on the phone. Sounded like she’d been there at the request of a patient’s attacker. It’s possible the two incidents are related.”
“There’s more,” Demon said. “I painted over it so the ladies wouldn’t freak the fuck out, but they left a message on the wall. I took some pictures.”
Demon slid a file folder into the center of the table. I reached for it, flipping it open. Pulling out the images, I handed some down the table as I stared at the one still gripped in my hand. What the fuck? My gaze lifted and met Demon’s.
“Why didn’t someone tell me about this before now?” I asked.
“Why would you need to know?” Grizzly asked. “You already stalk the damn woman. If someone tried to take her, pretty sure you’d notice.”
My jaw tightened as my gaze locked onto Steel farther down the table. The asshole had said he’d make sure everyone knew Glory was mine. I’d already figured out the Prospects didn’t know, and obviously Dagger hadn’t either. Had he told anyone? He winced and looked sheepish, which meant he’d either forgotten or he’d been sidetracked.
“I’m claiming Glory,” I said. “And no, I’m not asking. I’ve already moved her and Sienna into my house. It’s why I didn’t come to the clinic after the break-in. I was with Glory.”
“So you’re telling us she’s yours?” Badger asked, drumming his fingers on the table. “She lived with Ripper first. What if he’d wanted to claim her? There’s a reason we hold a vote for this sort of shit.”
Ripper held up his hands. “Nope. Not me. Glory is sweet and all, but I’m not ready to be a daddy right now and she’s a package deal with Sienna.”
“Are you really going to fight me on this?” I asked Badger.
“You were with Franny not too long ago. Seems like you didn’t wait long to move on to greener pastures. Maybe Glory is just a rebound,” Badger said.
I half-lifted out of my seat, ready to go after him. Dragon sat next to me and placed a hand on my shoulder, holding me down.
“Franny is back,” Slash said. “And causing trouble.”
Badger sighed and rubbed his hands up and down his face. “What the fuck is going on now?”
“She showed up at my house. Got pissed Glory was there and said some shitty things to her. Then my woman kicked her ass out and shut the door in her face,” I said, smiling as I remembered how fierce Glory had been. “She took exception to Franny’s reaction to me wearing shorts around the house.”
“I…” Badger shook his head. “I don’t even know where to go with that. Why the fuck would your ex care if you wore shorts at home? Or anywhere else for that matter?”
“Because she can’t stand to see his leg,” Dagger said. “I found her on his doorstep, and she turned on the waterworks. She had me fooled, until Glory lit into her. She’s something else.”
“Right. Okay, so we’ll table the discussion of Franny and what the
