“No,” Aiden spoke firmly as he stared at the soccer field itself. The sky was beginning to get stone grey clouds, it was about to rain very soon. Aiden looked at Trixie and the others, he sighed deeply and knew deep down on why they could not defeat Vanrod himself.
“Come on,” Luis said to the others. “We gotta go after Vanrod!”
“No,” Aiden repeated but this time more firmly.
“What do you mean ‘No’?” Veronica asked madly.
“We have no idea what we are even doing,” Aiden spoke. “Vanrod is in pain, he’s going through a transformation. He could become something more. More dangerous. We are lacking a few things in ourselves when we fight.”
“Like what?” Luis complained as he and Veronica helped Trixie.
“Teamwork.” Aiden spoke.
“Coordination, collaboration, training, self-esteem,” Allison spoke. “There’s a reason why school grades us based on these skills on our report cards you know. Aiden is right, we can’t fight if we are lacking these few things, no one wanted to listen to me back there.”
“But what about Vanrod?” Luis said concerned.
“I’m not gonna die over not being prepared,” Aiden said. “I almost died today, so did Trixie. This is serious guys.”
“What do we do then?” Trixie asked curiously.
Aiden looked at Allison and an abandoned soccer field a distance they were standing from. This gave him a brilliant unique idea, which would help him and his friends in many ways.
“We train." Aiden answered.
“What?” the four spoke at the same time and looked at Aiden curiously.
“I know you guys are confused,” Aiden spoke. “But we gotta train. Its time to stop rejecting our abilities to live normal lives. Its time to live ‘abnormal lives’. I know many of you may not accept on what I am saying, but this is the only way we will adapt. Its time to accept our abilities, if we start accepting for who we truly are and why we were chosen, our abilities would be in control. I did that during the time I defended my mother from my father, my mind completely ignored that I was abnormal or had abilities, I did not even think of that, that was the time I had my abilities under control but after I regretted what I did. My abilities got out of control. We have to trust ourselves from now on.”
“Oh okay,” Luis said. “So, you mean, we just gotta accept the fact that the word Stellar-Being in our minds is truly who we are?”
“Yes.” Aiden answered. “We meditate, train and trust ourselves; this will be a key to success. Allison, I got a job for you do to.”
“What?” Allison looked at Aiden curiously.
“Imagine this soccer field as a training ground,” Aiden spoke and pointed. “Running track, targets and whatever we can use at our disposal for our training and trust building exercise. Luis go with Allison and get your weapons buried in the trails. Meet us back at the soccer field later.”
Luis nodded as he and Allison head into the trails to look for his buried weapons that he collected from his house, the archery tournament, and other places along the journey. Aiden, Trixie, and Veronica head towards the middle of the soccer field as they stared at the dark cloudy sky, even though it was the middle of the day, it was more of an overcast weather. The soccer field had a goal post at each end and Trixie began to recognize it.
“This is the place that I figured out I had superspeed ability,” Trixie explained. “After I ran away during that game of manhunt, since my transformation phase started to occur.”
After a few minutes, Luis and Allison arrived in the middle of the soccer field. Allison, using her imaginative mind, constructed a running track surrounding the field, along with archery target systems, dummies, various kinds of training grounds and several types of obstacles. The five prepared by telling themselves repeatedly that they are Stellar-Beings, nothing more.
“Aright,” Aiden said. “We train.”
The training began with Luis taking out his weaponry. Using his adaptive weaponry ability, he combined a throwing knife with a wooden staff to make it into a halberd. He tested the weapons on the targets that Allison created. Luis kept hitting the targets with his knives while also shooting arrows rapidly to help improve his accuracy and precision. He repeated the same words to himself saying that he is a Stellar-Being and trained with more thrust and determination. Aiden approached Trixie at the running track. It was red with 6 lanes, having on it displaying, the lane numbers in white paint and the distance marked in increments of 25 meters.
“You sure you ready for this?” Aiden asked Trixie. “Let me know if you are not fine.”
“I’m okay,” Trixie said. “Alright, time me for 10 laps.”
Aiden took out his smartphone, went onto the clock app and initiated the timer as he signaled Trixie to start running her 10 laps. With her feet swiftly hitting the rubberized surface of the running track, she was running on the 6th and last lane, since it was the longest distance to cover to test out her superspeed to the max potentially. A few seconds later, Aiden stopped the timer as Trixie arrived after doing her 10 laps.
“How did I do?” Trixie said excitingly. She did not even break a sweat.
“3.57 seconds,” Aiden spoke. “That’s pretty amazing!”
“Sweet,” Trixie bragged and pretended to yawn enjoyingly. “I did not even break a sweat or do my top speed, I don’t think.”
“Well, want to try 100 laps then?” Aiden suggested jokingly.
“Definitely!” Trixie said as she prepared herself while Aiden prepared the app on his phone again.
Slowly and mesmerizingly, Veronica visualized ice formation which resulted in creating sheets of ice from her feet and hands. She created an ice slide, as she was
