Intro: Born

She felt something on her face. She? Who was she? Where was she? She stood up. "Ow, my head..." she winced. "Are you all right, dear?" A man in a black cloak said. "Yeah, uh, i'm fine, I think...hey, do you know who I am?" she asked. "You want purpose? Here is the new you". He spread his hands apart to reveal golden letters. "X...I...O...N? Xion?" Xion whispered. "The new you". he repeated, and disapeared. "Hey! Wait up!" Xion called. But nobody answered.

I had been born.

Chapter 1: The Guys on the Corner

I walked down the street, not knowing where the heck I was going. I had only been in this place, or, in this world for 3 days, and I could tell this place was pretty crummy. The places I'd stayed were not very suitable living conditions. Allies, dumpsters, ya' know, all that crap. My sneaker sqeaked on the sidewalk, bringing me back to the present. I looked ahead to see nothing but run down buildings, no signs of life, except some guys standing outside a bar on the corner. One of them, the tallest one, had red spikey hair, and green eyes, the medium sized one had silvery, long hair, and blueish green eyes. Then I got to the third, and shortest one, and I all but ran over and hugged him. He was the first boy i'd ever seen in my three days here that had caught my attention. He had golden, spikey hair, and the most gorgeous blue eyes. They reminded me of mine, well of what i'd seen of myself. Suddenly, the silver haired guy looked over at me and made a whistling sound, and red-hair followed him with a howl. Blondey slapped them both in the arms, which made them stop for about a second, then before I knew it, silver hair was walking across the street towards me. "Hey, baby" he said "your pretty cute." He grabbed my arm and pulled my face close to his "How 'bout a kiss?" Thats when blondey decided to intervene. He ran across the street, followed by the redhead, and pushed silver hair away from me. "Stop it Riku! Just stop! I can't take what you to do to girls passing by anymore!!!" he yelled at Riku. "Ah, comeon, Roxas, were just having some fun with her!" Riku whined and then smiled. "Riku, just stop" Redhead said "don't push him." "Shut up, Axel, I can do what I want. I'm not gonna be pushed around by shorty here anymore." he snapped, and swung his fist at Roxas. "No!" I screamed, but before Riku's fist could get anywhere near Roxas's nose, Roxas knee'ed him in the gut, and socked him one in the jaw. Riku fell to the ground, his nose bleeding. "Thats what I get for hanging out with a bunch of nobodies!!!" he snarled, then got up, and walked silently down the street. Thats when Roxas turned to me. "Hey, you okay?" he asked "Did Riku hurt you?" I stared, speechless, at him. "Come on, girly, atleast tell us your name." Axel muttered. Before Roxas could snap at him, I replied "Xion, my names Xion." Roxas smiled weakly, "Nice to meet you Xion." "Say, where ya headed, Xion?" Axel asked. "Um..." I didn't know if I should tell them I was homeless. "Nowhere." "Oh, well, we can take you home." Roxas offered. "Where d'ya live?" I sighed "I don't live anywhere. I don't have a home." Roxas looked shocked "You can come live with me and Namine!" If I had a heart, it would have dropped. "I-is Namine your sister?..." I asked, already knowing the answer. "No, my girlfriend, why?" I silently groaned. Of course he was taken! "No reason." "So you'll stay with us?!" Roxas asked excitedly "Um...yeah, sure, why not...."

Chapter 2: Namine

Me and Roxas walked up to his house in silence, but there was no room for tension, because Roxas' excitement lit the air like a childs. Obviously he liked having house guests. Truth be told, I was excited to, except that I just learned he had a girlfriend. He knocked on the door and a soft, gentle voice came from the other side. "Who is it?" it said. "Open up Namine, its me!" Roxas shouted. A beautiful girl opened the door. She had hair that was just a shade lighter than Roxas' and the eyes to match. Her skin was pale and perfect, and her body was that of a goddesses. "Who's this?" Namine asked. She was smiling, but I could tell that she was unhappy. Obviously Roxas didn't bring home random homeless girls that often. "Its okay, Nami, she needs a place to stay." he told her. Namine sighed. "Riku again?" "Yep, you know it." "Okay, well...please come in." she offered with a wave of her hand. They had a big house, perfectly clean, and white. Not my style, I thought. And by the look of it, it wasn't Roxas's either. Namine on the other hand, wore a simple white dress, and looked like she took pride in her house. "Wheres she gonna sleep?" Namine asked. "On the couch or in the guest room I guess." Roxas replied. Namine made a face "You smell like garbage, and you look like you've spent your whole life in a dumpster." she mused. "Namine!" Roxas turned around to look at her. "Give her a flippin break, okay?! She's homeless, and she just had to meet Riku and Axel an hour ago, so shut up, okay?!" he yelled at her. Namine looked shaken. "Well, I will not have her sleep in my nice clean sheets or on my nice white couch like that." she said, fighting back tears. "Get her cleaned up, and go buy her something to wear." And with that she stomped into the bedroom and slammed the door. Roxas turned to me. "I'm sorry, she's such a pain sometimes." He ran his fingers through his hair. "Obviously, she's not gonna let you borrow anything to wear, so lets go to the mall and find you something...After you take a shower that is." "A...shower?" I repeated, confused. "Right down the hall on the left." he pointed, and went towards the kitchen to get something to eat, leaving me to figure out how to take a shower, whatever that was.

Chapter 3: Bye, Bye Nami

After i'd finally figured out how the heck to take a shower and gotten dressed, I opened the door and the cold air of the rest of the house hit my face with a whoosh, stinging my eyes for a moment. I walked out to the living room, and saw Roxas with his feet up on the coffee table, watching a box with moving pictures on it. I'd seen one of those in a store window, but i'd think that someone would have one in there home! I walked over and stood behind the couch, watching in fasination. "Oh hey, your done." Roxas smiled. He followed my eyes to the box thing. "Oh, you like this show?" he asked. "I've only seen one of these once..." I replied in wonderment. "What, a comedy?" he asked, puzzled. "No, this moving picture box thing." I said. "You mean a TV? Really?" "Mmhm." I said, still satring at the TV. "Well, we better go buy you some new clothes, or Namine will have a fit..." he muttered. "Where is Namine?" I asked. "She said she was going 'out'." he said "But I don't know if she'll come back. She had a suit case with her." "Oh...thats to bad..." I said, but I was so joyful on the inside, I thought i'd explode. "Oh well, lets go to the mall and get you some stuff." Roxas said, with less enthusiasm than before. We walked silently to the car, a white mercedes, and I hopped in. It was a beautiful car with a perfectly white leather interior. "Is this yours?" I asked. "No, Namines, but she took mine for some reason." "How old are you?" I asked him "16, why, how old are you?" "15, I think." I replied. "You don't know how old you are?" he asked, astonished. "Uh, yeah..." "Oh well, I don't mean to pry, lets go." He started the car, which purred ever so softly, and took off.

Chapter 4: Choices

We walked into this huge building, which had people buzzing around it. "Have you ever been here?" he asked me. "No," I said breathless "what is this place?" "The mall." he said simply. "He led me into a shop with womans clothes in it." Go ahead and look around, try on the things you like and i'll be back in a minute." and with that, he was gone. I entered the store, not knowing what to do I grabbed the things closest to me and went into a dressing room. I came back out in a purple T-shirt with some kind of note on it, an orange jacket, and blue jeans with some kind of belt. I'd also grabbed a checkered wristband that kinda looked liked Roxas's before i'd went in. I looked in a mirror and turned around, feeling the prettiest i'd looked in my short life. "Thats nice." came a voice from behind. For a second, i'd thought Roxas had returned and put on my sweetest smile and turned around. My smile evaporated instantly. There, leaning against the wall, was Riku. His nose was in a bandage and he wore a dirty smirk. He walked over a grabbed my wrist. I whimpered in pain. "Don't" he twisted my wrist and pain shot through it "try to run or scream." he threatened, then pushed me into the dressing room. He pressed his lips against mine and started kissing me. It was then I heard another voice. "Xion? Are you done yet?" It was Roxas! Riku stopped and smiled. "This just got interesting." he whispered. "Xion?" Roxas called, and I heard him ask a clerk at the desk if she knew if I had left. "I think she's still in the changing area, sir, I most definately did not see her leave." she said. I heard Roxas walk over to the changing area, and start knocking on the first door, five doors down from where Riku and I were. He called my name, and then when nobody replied I heard him open the door and look in. Riku pulled something hard and cold from his jean pocket. It was a hand-gun. "Lets play a game," he said "If you decide to scream and run, you get shot. If you decide to warn him, you both get shot, and if you do none of the above and he finds us, he gets shot. Now what will it be?" he smirked. A tear ran down my cheek. I certainly did not want to die, but I didn't want Roxas to die even more. I made my choice.
