will wait for your father to come back out before going off to my room," he leaned back in his chair and I could feel his eyes linger on my jaw and neck. "Alrighty, sorry about that Victor, Trey was extremely tired," my father finally walked in and ended the silence that had formed between Victor and I. I sighed with relief and climbed to my feet once more, walking towards the stair case slowly. I could hear Victor wish my father good night then his footsteps began to follow mine. I dawdled up the steps and listened as he followed far behind. Reaching the top of the staircase, I looked back to see that he was no longer there. Curious and suspicious, I roamed back down the steps and peeked around the corners, yet he was no where to be found. "Looking for something? Or someone in particular?" I heard that deep, silky voice, and I spun around to see Victor standing only three steps above me. The shadows sided with him, and they cast over his face, hiding any emotion or response what so ever. I couldn't tell if I were simply amusing him or if it was an actual question that boiled in his blood. "No, I was just checking on something," I spoke softly. As I stepped closer to him, my vision became more sensitive and I could finally see his eyes. There was an odd depth of emotion buried in the gray specs of his beautiful eyes, and I couldn't quite comprehend any of it.
Walking past him, I felt his hand brush mine, and I wanted to trace my finger on his palm, and intertwine my fingers with his. But I knew that it would be much too odd and I'm sure if it were to happen I'd rather it happen at any other spontaneous moment, more so than this one. This small dreadful silence, that seemed to always collapse onto us both, irritated me. It made my blood boil and my heart ache; I cringed and shivered every time this inaudible moment occurred.
I quickened my pace and rushed to my room, shutting the door behind me. Leaning against it, I tilted my head back and ran my fingers through my hair, letting out loud and tired sighs. What was wrong with me? What was it about him that interested me so much? I dragged my feet as I crept towards my bed, falling onto the soft mattress, I buried my aching body in the soft sheets. "What is wrong with me?" I whispered to myself. I heard a small purr and felt a heap of fur huddle close to my side. I didn't even notice that Ella entered my room. Turning over, I hugged her close and shut my eyes, hoping I'd be able to sleep.
