To the Marcus in my life

Marcus was a captain
in the roman army
he was a good soldier
tought but he had a
heart and that in the
eyes of some of the
toughtest roman soldiers
was a crime.

He had won many battles
he had medals
honors
and a good reputation
but his heart was
lonely
he felt sad
all he wanted was
to be loved.

Being left orphan
to the care of his
uncle he never knew
the love of a real
mother, his heart
was in need of
affection, of sweet
tenderness
he was journing for
true love.

Marcus saw her one day
and his eyes felt like
light had hit them
she was beautiful
but he could tell from
afar she had a tender
heart, the way she
talked to people
or play with children
to him that was a
sign of her character.

Later he learned that she
too was orphan, lived with
a family that had taken
care of her, the woman of
the house hardly spoke to
her, the man of the house
was a relative, he was kind
all she wanted was to leave
no way out unless she married
but she wanted to do it
out of love.

That day the girl by the name
of Hannah had seen Marcus too
and she knew she had lost her
heart for a roman soldier, she
was afraid, he was not to be
with her, he was different, a
soldier and she was hebrew, how
could they be together?. They
crossed paths again, this time
Marcus couldn't resist the
tentation and talked to her.

He approached her, looked at her
with sweet eyes, "my name is Marcus"
he said, for a moment she was silent
then couldn't resist introducing
herself "I am Hannah", their eyes
were filled with stars and they
both knew love had touched their
hearts...
