This book is based on the real life of the middle-class youngster, how his journey towards his goal started and how and where he reached. All characters and names in the book are fictious.

Recognition of Goal

In January 2006, it was winter time in India, school was going on that day and there was a program of Lohri festival after the break in the school but schedule before break was same as usual. Classes were taken place and students were attending the classes with a joy in their heart that there will a program after break so they would not need to attend the classes then. Lovepreet was the student of 5th standard and he had free lecture that time just before the break as their teacher were absent so management sent the alternate teacher in the class just to attend the students. The name of the teacher is Riddhi. She was very friendly with the students and gets involved her easily with them. During that lecture she demanded for someone who can sing a song for the class. She started this activity just to make the students busy and controlled, but no one was agreed to come forward and sing a song in front of whole class. Suddenly, she saw a raised hand somewhere from the last bench to come forward and that was the hand of Lovepreet, he always sings Punjabi songs in his home and gets rewarded by his father especially when his father was drunk, so he took advantage that time and gets rewarded by some money from his father. So Lovepreet made his mind to sing a song for his class as his friends had also insisted him to sing for them. The teacher and whole class were cheering him up and he was invited in front near the board so that everyone can face him. When he started singing the song, he mesmerised everyone in the class including his teacher, she was really impressed from his singing. She said one day you will be a renowned singer and that words got carved in his mind. Best and life turning moment of Lovepreet’s life was happened after the break of that day when the program of Lohri festival was started. Each and every student of school was gathered in the ground to celebrate that function and some of the students were performing on the stage for entertainment. Suddenly, anchor started calling the name of Lovepreet from the stage by mentioning his standard also, when he heard it 2nd time he got astonished that why they are calling him.

He went to the stage and mike was given to him and asked for singing a song for them. He got shocked from it then his teacher Miss Riddhi came and told him that she referred his name for it. Eventually he got agreed with her for performing but that was his first ever performance on stage and there was thousands of listeners in the ground. He was nervous that time but his teacher helped him to get rid of that nervousness. She started cheering on the mike and all the students also started cheering him for performance, which filled him with full of confidence and he performed very well, that child was appreciated for his performance and got recognised in the school for his singing.

Now, he also recognised his goal of life that he wanted to be a Punjabi singer in his future life, so, he took a decision to pursue this profession in future and started working on it. First competition of his life in which he participated when he was in 9th standard in which he hold 2nd position and did his best. He did not feel sad because he could not get 1st position instead of it he learned why he did not get that position and started working on it but he barely able to give his time to singing as his parents always wanted him to study and get good job as he belongs to a middleclass family. They were worried about his future that he should be able to earn for his bread and butter and they thought it is only possible if he studied well but somehow he always find some time in the school for his singing like during his break time and early in the morning. He made a decision by coming half an hour early in the school only for spending the time with music.

Losing Hope

This is the time when Lovepreet moved to the higher school for his 11th standard. The circumstances were different and there was no facility for his music. Moreover, he did not have money to take private classes for his music. Although he was practicing by himself, yet it was not working well for him. He was not getting any chance to explore his talent anymore. Moreover, he had to attend private tuition classes for his study for which his parents were paying a lot even that time he did not have any vehicle to go that tuitions. He always went to tuition classes on foot and never asked for bike to his family as his all classmates used to come by their own vehicles but he knew about his family condition that they are sponsoring his studies was a big deal for him.

Apart from this, he has an elder sister who was doing her graduation so taking care of studies of two children is not easy. That was the time he came to know about that he can never be a singer because of his family back ground he has to look forward his future in studies so that he can start earning as soon as possible even he did not get any opportunity to participate for 2 years which made him totally demotivated. Whenever, there is any open competition it has entry fee which became the main issue for him to step back from his dream. All in all, he was totally broken and left the singing. He is introvert kind of person so he did not have many friends that time. There was no one who can motivate or cheer him up towards his dreams. He stopped listen to songs because he always started singing while listening. He was alone with his problems and this was the only option he left with and eventually he quit studies. He was failed in one subject but he cleared that subject in second attempt. This thing never happened with him before that’s why he fully diverted his mind towards his studies. Then he has passed his 12th standard with good grades.

Spark in the Life

After, passing 12th standard now he has to think about his further studies. He decided to pursue Bachelor of Science in agriculture because it has wider scope than anything else in all over the world. Next step was the selection of college for which he had to take care about its distance as he could not pay for hostel charges and he found a very well reputed college near his hometown which is only 15km away from his home he took admission in that college easily because he had good grades in his 12th standard.

Eventually there was the first day of his college when he entered in his new world because college life is totally different from our normally life it is like the new world for everyone because we have very different circumstances and environment in college. On the first day of his college he was sitting on the first bench of his class he met with new people and made new friends. Attending classes in college started making him extrovert from introvert now he has lot of friends with whom he spend his time just after a week of classes he started sitting at last bench where he and his friends play multiplayer video games. Lovepreet started enjoying his life. It was like his life changed to be a colourful from the black and white.

Sometime in their free lectures Lovepreet used to sing songs for his friends which blaze the fire of his dream again so
