"Mom, you know I hate moving" I complained as my mom had just asked if we liked the "new place". Obviously, not new enough. The floor bourds were sticking up, rusted nails sticking out; The deck itself looked like it was about to give any minute. The color was a coul black but pait was chipped off and only showed exposed old wood. The door was eye-striking white and weeds were growing all over the yard. Emily, my twin, was looking around outside while I was gazing inside.
"This house really needs some work" she said, frowning at the dead flowers in a small flower bed.
"No duh, sherlock" I said pusing on a pillar, my hand immediately going through it. "Crap" I exclaimed as I pulled my hand out, covered in splinters ands dust. I brushed it off, taking a few of those splinters along with it, and winced in pain. Some blood already showing. Emily chuckled and I glared at her. I went inside and let's just say that the inside wasn't better then the outside. Actually, it was worse if that even existed. A large giant hole was in the middle of the floor and there were no doors other then the white one.
"It could use a but of work but pretty soon it will look good as new" mom said happily as she set a box of things on a table; which gave at the pressure and fell to the floor.
"A bit?" I asked, walking around the large hole. "What did you say the owners did?"
"I don't know, but the real estate agent said they were millionaires... why they would buy a crappy place like this is beyond me" she said, merely asking herself that question. I sighed and went up the stairs, probbly the only thing stable in this whole entire house. But I shouldn't have spoken too soon. As I was on the third step to the top my foot broke through the wood causing me to scream in surprise.
"What on earth made you buy this place" I asked angrily as she came running towards me. She helped me pull my leg out and gave a sympathetic smile.
"I don't know, I guess it was because when I first saw this house I thought that it only needed love and attention" she said wisely. I rolled my eyes and brushed more wood shavings off my pants leg. Continuing up the stairs, I got the feeling of emptiness and...something else. But what it was only made me annoyed and curious.
After checking the rest of the rooms and the rest of the house I begged and begged mom to sell it and buy a different house but she clarified that this house would never get any buyers unless it was cleaned up. That, I agreed on.
