CHAPTER ONE

"PILOTE"

I was switching the music station of K-Love. I was searching on mymy phone, for any new songs, because it was Sutarday morning.

Sometimes I usually use the recorder to record myself on my phone when I got new songs.

Given from the Lord, but since I haven’t any new song to record, that’s why I was listening to K-Love.

Although nothing news I couldn’t find on K-Love Station on the phone, I love the old songs.

Henceforth I was singing along and couldn’t wish to even fall in love ever again.

All my heart’s desire is to never be in love, never have a friend.

Just because I am afraid to be ever betrayed again by my friends.

Well, doesn’t hurt for me to be alone. Besides I like to be a lonely wolf.

Because having friends it's a compelling drama of nothing but heartbreaking and pains.

Whenever I am alone, I have peace of mind and having the strongest bond every day with Jesus.

Moreover, though I might feel lonely, engulfed with nothing but pains and suffering and sorrow.

But the Lord is with me, so I will never be alone. I was in my room singing that Saturday afternoon for my vacation in Utah.

Because at my friend’s sister school camp that evening around 7:30 always to 10 p.m, there is going to be a sing-along with a partner.

And students at camp are going to meet their favorite gospel singer by the name of Chris Tomlin.

I have to admit because Chris Tomlin is my favorite too.

It was Christmas Eve and snowing that late evening. To continually it was my first day ever been in Utah, though I didn’t know a lot of familiar people.

Furthermore, it was our vacation with my family because we went to visit the people there.

Who we used to live as neighbors in Africa. I was with my friends at the campsite with some of a lot of young men, women, and teenagers.

And there was so much crowd of people. Yet since I was in the front rows, I wouldn't worry about anything.

Continually the last sing-along partners just have done, and the famous gospel music singer.

Chris Tomlin was calling for anyone who would sing next.

“Who is going to be next?” Chris asked as he looked around.

Yet none dare raises their hands because they were nervous.

Unless Chris turned around and pointed at me. “You, come up here and sing for us,” Chris called.

“What? You can’t be…”, I panicked. But my sentence was shortened by the crowds who were cheering for me.

Especially my friends Enoch, Joel, and Raphael were applauding for me endlessly.

“You guys you can’t be serious?” I stammered. “Just go, bro!” Nana pushed me forward towards the stage.

“Nana? And where did you come from? I thought you stay at the house and didn’t want to come?” I said nervously.

“Yup, but I changed my mind. Besides a guy with that kind of beautiful voice, cannot escape this time.

Now brother chop-chop, you can’t keep us waiting now. Up-up and the way!” Nana snapped at me anxiously. Has he continually pushing me. I found myself on the stage, Chris Tomlin gave me the microphone.

“Ah, finally and I want you to sing any song. Whether your own or somebody else,” Chris said.

“But I don’t have a partner to sing-along with?” I asked has Chris walked out of the stage.

“Oh, don’t worry son, you will sing-along with the partner next,” Chris replied and continued his march off the stage.

‘Oh man, tell me that I am dreaming. This cannot be happening and I promise myself that I will never sing ever again.

Here I am on this stage trying to sing,’ I thought. “Come on, Guillaume.

Don’t stand there like a statue sing for us!” Raphael teased.

“Oh great. That’s the last voice I want to hear from the person who used to be my worse nightmare in Zambia.” I though out loud anxiously.

“Alright-alright, everyone. G-good evening. My name is Guillaume Mwamba, I have this song that I wrote years ago which I want to share with you.

And I know that I might not have a beautiful voice, but I have to.

Because if I don’t, I will stay on this stage forever.” I said while everyone roared in laughter.

“O-Okay, let’s start!” I interrupted them to be silenced.

“You are the God of grace. You are the God peace. You are the mighty warrior.

Forever You remained. Let Your peace wonders.

Forever and ever more.  Let Your peace rain, let Your peace roam, let Your peace wonders.

Forever and ever more. Where is chaos. Let Your peace rain, let Your peace rain, let Your peace rain.

Forever, let Your peace rain....”, I sang as everyone cheered and applauded for me in excitement.

CHAPTER TWO

                 “PILOTE”

           “DESTIN”

Previously on Regain. Everyone cheered and applauded for me in excitement.

Some of them, tears were coming down out from their eyes, and I was about to walk away from the stage when Chris Tomlin stop me.

For the second sing-along with a partner now. ‘I hate this kind of idea.

Why can he just leave me alone? I don’t want to sing-along with a partner especially if it is a girl.

In fact, I don’t want to sing with anybody...!’ I thought.

Chris interrupts my thought again. “Wow, ugh, what’s your name young man?” He asked.

“Ah, Guillaume. Guillaume Mwamba,” I answered. “Guillaume.

Should I call you, Gui?” Chris asked. “Um, sure,” I replied.

“O-Okay, Gui, that’s was very awesome. And why you say that you don’t have a voice? What nonsense you were trying to pull?

Hmm, I guess you were trying to run from singing to the Lord because of something bad happened.

Well, to tell you the truth, son, you will never run away from the eyes of the Lord God Almighty.

Besides, he chooses you to be a preacher through singing, you cannot run from Him.” Chris said.

‘Why do you even care? You don’t know what’s happening in my life.

All my life I have been asking God to give me a partner who will someday sing with me.

Praising Him in every day of our lives, yet nothing has happened.

Now I have given up on praying on that, so its the time He began answering my prayer?’ I thought.

“Okay, who is going to sing along with, Gui?” Chris asked. No one courage enough who came on the stage.

Henceforth, Chris Tomlin was looking around for any lonely, quiet, and nervous girl that he can call on the stage.

“Anyone, who wants to be on stage? Ah, come on! Chris groaned.

How about you?” He asked while pointing at the most extraordinary magnificent African American young woman.

I saw her confused and shocked when she called to come on stage.

And didn’t seems to want to come to sing-along in the huge crowds with me.

‘Get a grip, Tomlin, the young lady doesn’t want to come!’ I scolded at him in my thought loudly.

The huge crowds roared in cheering and clapping, while her friends push her towards the stage.

“Guys, I don’t want to go up there.” Patience insisted.

“Nah-ah, girl, you’re going up there. You are not escaping this guy this time, Patience.” Clara said.

“Oh come on, Clara thrice of you already know that I don’t want to be in any relationship.

Besides, you already, also you know that I will never go to fall in love with another man.

Since I broke up with, Ben, son no way will I go up there,” Patience whispered to her friends.

“Ugh, we know that but what’s it have to do with him? Anyway, how did you know that he as a cruel heart as Ben?” Clementine asked.

“Girls, all men are the same,” she replied. “Nope, the wrong girl now go.

Additionally, how can you know him if you don’t give the guy a second chance?

Furthermore, we all heard you sing beautifully alone into a bathtub.

Continually, you didn’t come from Chicago to Utah with your mother to watch some people sing, do you?” Holly asked.

“Yes, what’s the problem with that?” Patience asked back.

“Yup, there is a problem, Patience,” Clementine answered.

“And what’s is that?” She asked. “Well, it’s Christmas Eve and tomorrow it’s going to be Christmas.

God has given you a perfect gift ever and you are refusing.  Uh, come one girl!” She said.

Clementine, Clara, and Holly push their friends without stopping on the stage.

Where she discovered herself standing before me confused.

“Yes, Patience, you’ll take us later,” Clara high five with Holly and Clementine.

Everyone clap and cheer for both us who was standing before them on the stage.

Chris Tomlin turns the screen for the lyrics for the music that we might sing-along with.

‘Ugh, I can’t believe this would be happening to me?’ I thought while whacking my forehead.

The girl just laughed a little bit when she saw me do that.

‘Hum, ha-ha-ha, he is a funny guy I think. Because I do like that when I am frustrating,’ Patience thought in her laughed.

When her thought was interrupted by music, which made her startled a little bit and it the song music usually know.

To my greatest surprise, it was the song “BREAK EVERY CHAIN” (Tasha Cobbs).

Where I immediately began singing it and she too knew the song and Tasha Cobbs is her favorite singer.

“There is power in the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus.

To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain...eh.

To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain.

There is an army rising on. There is an army rising on. There is an army rising on...ooh.

To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain...eh.

To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain…”, I paused and became furious because my sing-along partner wasn’t singing with me.

I was walked down one step of the first stair of the stage when she began singing too so wonderfully.

“To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain...eh.

To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain.

To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain...eh.

To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain.

I heard the chains falling...eh. I heard the chains falling...eh.

I heard the chains falling...eh. “To break every chain, to break every chain, to break every chain…”, both of her and I sang in an extraordinary unison.

Ending the song with the people cheering and applauding by the huge crowds while the helicopter was hovering above us.

It seems like they were a crime, happened because we heard the gunshot.
